Inspired by Stinkerbelle..What is NOT shocking anymore?

PDA is huge, we goto the movies and there are these lil jr high kids mackin all over each other without a care in the world who maybe watching. I don't mean on the back row in the dark either, I'm talking right out front in the lobby.

Fans at sporting events thinking their ticket bought them the right to be obnoxious.

We are just now changing the law in Oklahoma so that women can breast feed in public. (altho no one seems to know about the law)

Girls calling boys on the phone/ asking them out on dates.

wow good question.

Long hair on men

BTW...I think alot of the things mentioned here are still frowned upon.

Homosexuality is definitely shocking to most people still. We wouldn't have monthly debates on Gay Days if not.

Living together without being married - My inlaws weren't pleased when DH & I were living together unmarried and made us sleep in separate beds when we visited. I think children born out of wedlock is still frowned upon as well.

Vulgarity in music/media definitely still shocks people or the FCC wouldn't be having a moral field day.

I had a hard time with that one when my kids first became adults. I got over it LOL But..............

A couple of years ago my Mom passed away. My Dad reconnected with someone he had known over 50 years ago. I begrudge him not one moment of happiness. He spent a lot of years taking care of my very ill Mother.

But if you think having your kids share a bed with someone is a big step, imagine how it feels when it is your 78 year old father !!!!!!! Truthfully, the first time they came for a visit and said good night and went off to one room together I almost croaked. I got over that one too, but it was more difficult.

Boy I never had any issues with my family or my GF's family I lived with lots of my GF's and we shared a room from the time I was 19 guess it is all what you are used to and what you deem to be shocking and such.

Gee, why did you go through so many live-in girlfriends and how did you convince the last one to stick around? Did you win the lottery? ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl:

you know - some people THINK those comments in their head but don't have the decency to actually speak/type them.

you're really a breed onto your own.

like i said before - you have a very warped attitude towards women.

no - i can take a joke.

but i've read alot of your posts with the same connotation in it...and you seemed pretty dead on defending your views...

the ladies must LOVE that sense of humor

hunh? What did I miss???

Actually Stinkerbell most people do it must be a Candian thing hehehe. Faithinkarma I made a comment about living with people and made a joke about it in cunjunction to a test drive of a car.

Don't feel too bad DSNY FN,
My DH and I lived together a long time before we got married. We both wanted to be SURE it was right before we took the plunge!::yes::

A lot of people do, and it's women as well as men who want to.

As a matter of fact, my grandma did at one time. Loooong after my grandpa died, and she was about 75 at the time.

Hey - I did it too...I lived with DH before we were married for 3 years. I'm not a prude at all....

however

I just think the term "test driving it...etc..." is a bit crass. that's all.

Thanks Tiggersmom2 and Serena I appreciate that. I am always making jokes and stuff and people take some things to literally I guess but hey what can you do I have no hard feelings towards anyone and think I do have a warped sence of humour. My wife and I had our oldest daughter 2 years before we got married we involved her in the wedding even giving her a matching band to mine and my wifes.

I understand, and you are certainly entitled to your feelings.

But I have to say I just took no offense to that one at all. It could have been said by either gender. It is just such an old joke, it has no teeth any more.

A friend of mine uses that same line all the time about her husband she lived with prior to marrying ....so its not just a guy ting!

When I was a kid & young adult, the media didn't expose celebrities problems/criminal activies. Now it's used to revive fading careers.

Commercials selling sex with their products.

Parents dressing as teens. It just wasn't done.

Kids with potty mouths.
