Inspired by Pumbaa_ - Trading Spaces Designers

Which designer on Trading Spaces would you let redecorate one of your rooms? Which one would make you want to barricade your door? Which one would you most like to work with redecorating a neighbors room?

I would let either Vern or Edward redo a room in my house. I usually like most of Vern's designs and so far have liked everything Edward has done.

You couldn't pay me enough to let Hildi loose in my house!!

If I had to pick one to work with, I think I would want to work with Doug. I have to type of personality that I think would get along well with his and I think I could give him a run for his money

One thing though, Ty has to be the carpenter! you didn't read that Matthew!!

If Kia was the designer for my house I would be in tears!!

Vern hands down. He has great style and finds such wonderful things for the rooms. He also listens to the homeowners.

I would not let Doug redesign the shed out back, let alone a room in my house. That guy is scary!

I've consistently liked both Vern's and Frank's rooms.

Doug makes me go Ugh! He's too much of an egomaniac for me.

Hildi just plain scares me with some of her stuff - I'd barricade the door if I saw her coming!

And I have enough border paper in my apartment already, thanks, Kia!

Definitely Vern! He's my hand's down fave!

I would barricade the door for Laurie, Genevieve AND Hildi, because they all make me sick as people, not just as decorators! Laurie and Genevieve's voices give me the heebie jeebies and Hildi, her consistent flirting with Ty gives me the hives!!

LOVE both of the carpenters, but TY, come on over!

I'm with you Lauri. I love Edward and Vern, and almost everything of Laurie's. Gen and Doug are too much of a wild card, and I would never let Hildi or Kia in my house. I don't care for country style much for my home, but I would love to work with Frank on my neighbor's house. He is a riot!

Frank for my kitchen and family room, Lori and the new guy Edward for my bedroom. Although I do like Vern and Gen, they aren't my style , but I would definately work with them. Now Hilde and Doug, I would probably tell them to take the stick out of their rear end if I had to work with them, and I wouldn't let them or the new lady anywhere on my block, just plain ewwww.

Vern, Edward, and Laurie, in that order. I was always pretty neutral on Laurie until I saw the bedroom she did in Maine - very Provance, a chandelier with tulips - it was the episode where the homeowners ditched the headboard project and went out to dinner, and Laurie had a cow - but the room would up surprisingly gorgeous.

I would kill to have Vern do my room. I don't think I've ever disliked one of his rooms. Laurie would be the runner up.

I would burn my house down before I would let Frank redo one of my rooms. Kia is an extremely close second to Frank.

I would love to work with Frank, he seems so sweet (but it would have to be a cold-weather month).

I wouldn't want to work with Doug (too pouty), Laurie (too schoolmarmish) or Hildi (too lazy).

My first choice would be Frank. I could take Laurie, too.

I would NOT let Hilde or Doug near any room in my house--What if I ended up with a pullman car or that circus tent looking fiasco!

I would like to work with Gen, Vern or Frank

And Ty--definitely Ty as the carpenter

My favorite, by far, is Vern. I really like the clean, simple lines look he favors. After him, I'd say Edward and then maybe Doug. Gen and Laurie are about the same in my book -- some good, some bad, a lot of boring. I can do boring very well myself, thanks.

I don't like the country/folksy look so Frank can't work on my house. And as for Kia, anyone who thinks Astroturf would make a good bedcover should NOT be a designer.

If I HAD to let one of them do a room in my house I would choose Vern. I wouldn't want any of the others to touch my house, but I wouldn't let Doug near my house.

Vern for the bedroom...he does the BEST bedrooms.

Frank for the Kitchen.

Laurie (can't wait for her to come back) for the living room.

Saw Doug do a home theater room once and if I had one of those I'd let him do that but other than that I would let him touch a room that I actually had to stay in.

Hildie is a big NO-NO. If I heard Trading Spaces was coming to town I would have to go get a restraining order against her!

Jen I would let do one of my kids rooms. I've seen her do some cute rooms for kids.

As far as who would I like to work with...it doesn't matter as long as I got Ty for the carpenter. He is a HOTTIE!! Oh yeah, I don't think I could work with Doug. He's a bit of a Hottie too but he's such a BABY when he doesn't get his way!

I would trust Vern to do a room in my home. Possibly Edward, but he seems to use green a lot.

We would most like to work with Frank.

Although (most of) the rest have had good rooms (remember even a stopped clock is right twice a day), they scare me.

While I liked the horizontal stripes Hild* did in an Atlanta area dining room, I don't want her ANYWHERE near my neighborhood. Magenta, taupe, magenta, taupe........
Concrete backer board on the floor and LYING to the HO that the wall paint is 'midnight blue' when it really is black.
Wanting to use an untried method to dye perfectly good carpeting orange.

Gen - uneven slate tile on the floor and moss on the wall. Need I say more?

Doug - EGO

Kia - fake grass grave blanket.

Laurie - I can only think of 1 of her rooms outside of her green, yellow, brown color palette.

Too bad Roderick didn't work out; he did a WONDERFUL job on the only episode he was on.
