What crazy things have your neighbors done?

I had a neighbor ask me if he could permanently park his boat in my driveway!! LOL. I was single at the time, I guess all that empty space in my drive way drove him nuts. Anyway I decided I'd play along, just for fun. He told me he would take my trash to the dump for me in exchange. I told him I don't have that much trash and I already have arrangements. I said I'd think about it if he wanted to cut my grass every week. :p :p :p He said no (I knew he would.) I said, It's just as well, it probably wouldn't have work out anyway.

Same neighbor --- I kept finding kitty food cans in the backyard under the deck. Curious as I didn't have any cats. Neighbor's little girl came to me one day when I came home from work and told me, "You have a kitty!". I said, "I do?" And she opened the gate and took me to the shed. Her dad said, "That's my fault.", and proceeded to tell me about the cat and how he would open my back yard gate to let his dog in to run after the stray cat :( and allowed the dog to dig holes all around my shed to get to the cat!! So his daughter had a cat and he had his "entertainment" all in my back yard! I let him know what I thought of that mess after his daughter skipped away. And I got a lock for the gate. Crazy!

How about you guys? Any crazy neighbor stories??

My parents next-door-neighbor has been known to walk around outside in nothing but his underwear!

A previous neighbor used to roller blade really late at night while "playing" a guitar. He couldn't actually play the guitar, so I'm not sure what that was about.:p

One night we had some friends over and they left really late, around 1:30 in the morning. When we walked them to their car, who do we see outside roller blading and "playing" the guitar? You guessed it! :p :p He said, "Hello!". He was an attorney (criminal law), I guess it was some sort of release after dealing with criminals all day.

My house faces the interstate (about 200 yards away)...

We purchased the middle townhouse, and we're the youngest family by almost 30 years--so much for townhouses being starter homes and lots of kids for mine to play with...

Anyway, the next door neighbors (think Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched, only not nice at all) would park in the breakdown lane on the interstate with binoculars and watch the construction crew all day. She commented to me after we all moved in that the crew building the next set of townhouses on our block was much nicer. I wanted to say "Sure, you're not watching them all day!" instead, I said "Oh, you mean the guys who are catcalling me each day when I go to my car? Me, 4 months pregnant, sick as a dog?"

Same neighbor (my others are sweet, btw). I call the GE repair guy because my stove is broken(the broiler igniter fried). Tells me that in the three months we've lived in our houses, he's been to their house SIX times: fridge is making noise she doesn't like (icemaker) and she wants it replaced; there's a mark on her dishwasher (caulking material-wiped right off), still insisted on a new face plate; dishwasher leaking (her husband used dishwashing liquid in it); and the other one I remember was that she didn't think the water in the washing machine was hot enough! About six months later, called GE again about my washing machine not agitating and same repairman comes--count is up to twenty two visits in 9 months!

She's the one who calls the homeowners association about any and every violation any neighbor makes (but freaks if someone calls about her), told my husband off that our lawn wasn't mowed when he was about to do it (that got ugly-I asked when he was supposed to do it when he left before the sun rose and came home after the sun set--I have allergies, asthma and bad wrists), plays with their power tools at 6 am, hammers at all hours of day and night and has this HUGE sign on her locked front storm door (DO NOT OPEN-LOCKED) that makes me say "duh".

I learned my lesson-when having a house built, ask the salesperson about the other buyers!!!!

(When I move to Florida, I will be asking A LOT about my neighbors, and I'm probably going to avoid the most expensive planned communities!!)

When we were still living in apartments, we had some of the worst neighbors ever. Our landlady's grandson lived upstairs from us. She (the landlady) would come over every morning at 6 AM and scrub the front porch. I would look out my front window and see her ugly face out there staring at me. She was a wacko. She also put a chain across the front porch steps so we couldn't go on it. Mind you, those steps led to OUR front entrance.

In another apartment, the woman upstairs from us put turpentine in our laundry detergent because I told her daughter to close the front door when she left for school. All the heat would escape and boost MY gas bill. Sweet revenge for her I guess. She also used to allow my DD to use her kids' swingset. On my DD's 7th birthday, the kids at her party were on the swingset (it was like 90 degrees outside, they couldn't stay in), it made her mad, so her and her husband came out and DISMANTLED the swingset with all these little girls watching in confusion. That still gets me hot under the collar!
