Inspired by Food Network's Diners, Drive Ins and Dives

I thought about this because when we go on road trips (hard to do now because of the price of gas) we take the back roads, sometimes we stay on interstates but you get to see more when you don't. We are tired of Fast Food for every stop so my question to you all is In your city what is the best Diner, Drive In or Dive??

I will start. I live in the Lynchburg Virginia area and the best DIVE around here is called the T-Room (Texas Inn), famous for the Cheesy Westerns and chili.

Any one else?

Best dive here is called Tony's... they are famous for their screamers... think hamburgers with a slopyjob sauce that could burn your tounge out... they also have something called a "fluff burger" something to do with fluff on screamers.. People seem to love em.. I dont eat red meat.. so I dont know for sure.

Not where we live now- but where we used to live LI- There is a GREAT Burger place CHEAP TOO!!!
All American on Merrick Road in Massapequa?Or is it Seaford? whichever- they have the best quarterpounder with cheese and fries I have ever had.

The Rainbow Diner in Brick, NJ does it for us. The portions are gigantimus.

Chicago area:

Johnny's Italian Beef - Elmwood Park, also has fantastic Italian Lemonade
Gene and Jude's (hot dogs) - River Grove, (don't ask for ketchup, they have none!)
La Pasadita - Chicago, burritos, tacos, etc...
Bari Foods - Chicago, hands down, best Italian subs around
Susie's drive-in - Chicago, belt buster burger...need I say more?
Hot Doug's - Chicago, gourmet hotdogs (along with regular, venison, duck, buffalo) fries cooked in duck fat.

I've heard of that diner and I don't live anywhere near Brick! It's famous though- our good diner is the Towne Restaurant in Clinton! Dino's getting married this weekend though so it's closed. Congratulations DINO!!

Harry's in Colchester, great burgers and chili cheese fries.

Nikki's Hot Dogs in Putnam awesome Coney Island hot dogs.

Murphy's in Columbia. They are under new ownership this year though and we haven't eaten there this season. But they were packed the other night.

Best pizza around here is Millers Tavern in Annandale, NJ! Thin crust...just yummy! They just changed owners though but I hear they sold the pizza recipe too!

Best ribs is Old West BBQ in Annandale as well.

Hi Neighbor! This is good to know, haven't been there is a couple weeks...we have been going to the Old River House in Clinton more. They have really really good burgers amongst alot of other things...and coupons on restauarant dot com!
