Inspired by being a thread highjacker- the OT thread!

Isn't it funny how parents think you can't do anything without them??? I was just talking to my mother and she had to remind me to lock up for the night. Now what did she think I was going to do if she didn't tell me? How in the world do I function without her anyways? I guess my house would be unlocked for starters. Love her, but holy cow!

That's parents for you. Mine don't even like me to go out of town. Or to drive.

My parents still call and consider me a "young mom". Mind you, when I had the sweetpea I was older than they were when they had me. But they still dont think I can handle things because Im young. UGH! I love them though. (most days)

well i'm "old" when it comes to having children (or their want for me to have children) but with everything else it's like I'm just a young girl, i shouldn't go anywhere without my husband blah blah blah...

I hear you. Im too young to be the mom of a 10 year old. But I am way to old to be single. They think I should be married and taking care of a 35 year old. Go figure.

Ok, im out! Night!

nighty night. i better head to bed too, i want to get up fairly early tomorrow and get some stuff done. bye!

Hey, Becky, if it helps any, everyone I know who had morning sickness early on was done with by the time they were half-way through at the latest.

Course, then you've got the heartburn to look forward to, if you get that. And it is about as much like regular heartburn as what you have is close to being a little sick in the morning.

And when all that finally goes away, you get the shooting pains down your legs and the kicks from the baby and the headaches. I forgot about the headaches! Do doctors let you take Advil or anything now?

But when you hold Little Toby in your arms, it won't make a damn bit of difference how sick you were. It is totally worth it...in the end. :)

I'm doing the night shift this week. But not tonight! Never did this NIGHT thing before...it sucks. I'm never doing it again and don't care HOW hard up they are. The patients can jolly well haul their failing-hearted bodies out to the cart and pick up their own Lopressor or Lipitor or WHATEVER. I need my sleep. ;) :goodvibes I joke, of course. But I'm 1% serious. :)

Oh, and did you see "Click?" The Adam Sandler movie? There is a scene where two dogs are supposed to be about to "do it" and guess what they play? "The One That You Love" by Air Supply!

That movie made me cry! I NEVER cry. Had a kinda rough life and you can throw pretty much anything at me, I'll handle it. But the tears were streaming down my face. ...This actually turned my husband on. Men are such pigs sometimes, I swear.

Don't hate! I may not have had morning sickness. But I get crappy migraines that cause me to vomit for no given reason. At least you will get a baby out of all your barfing. All I got was broken blood vessels in my face and eye, and the need to vomit more. I would have taken morning sickness over the migraine nasuea because eventually the morning sickness will stop. My migraines continue, always.

I dont see how bulimics can handle all the vomiting :confused3

I get migraines too. Normally I take topomax as a prevention med, but my doc made me go off of it once mark and I started trying to get pg. But I hear ya on the vomiting with those, too.

Have you ever tried prevention meds? I tell ya what, after suffering with my migraines forever and ending up in hospital several times begging them to either kill me or knock me out, the topomax was a LIFESAVER.

And you're right, I'll take the morning sickness over the migraines, too.

I went to the doc today (because after yesterday where I vomited ALL DAY and kept nothing down, I have lost 10lbs and was seriously on my way to the hospital for dehydration :sad2: ) and she gave me meds for my migraines (since tylenol was a JOKE) and meds for the puking!! :woohoo:

Hopefully they work.

CB- ugh. I was totally going to see "Click" and now that I know Air Supply is in it, it's somehow tainted... :rotfl:

And my DH thinks it's cute when I cry. He gets to be all manly and console his little woman. :lmao:

I am not looking forward to work tomorrow. At all. I have done nothing but lay around and puke for the past 5 days, but tomorrow I'll be forced to puke away from home. Ugh.

And now kdibattista's thread about dinner has me craving Lucky Charms.

Oh, by the way, they also changed my due date to March 6. I'm still hoping for Feb. 28. We'll see. I guess it'll get here when it gets here.

We're going find out the sex on Marks birthday (sept. 28)... Any guesses?

Im gonna guess boy. Only because if I get preggers again, I want a boy. I even have a name picked out.

Lucky charms sound yummy. But not as good as my Priates of the Carribean ceral does. No milk though.

And I saw Click. It was not a typical Sandler movie. And if I wasn't in such a good mood when I saw it, and who I was with, I might have had watery eyes. If you are any bit emotional, you will cry.

OK, I am such a dork sometimes. And I can't believe I missed out on an opportunity. Long story short, cute EMT eating at Rubio's was flirting with me. We chatted a bit, but I decided he was too young and didnt give him a chance to ask for my number. I was fine with that at the time. But when he walked out of the place and I saw his bottom.....damn. I should have chased him down and forced my number on him. Cutie guy, with a nice backside. Thinking back, he wasn't all that young, I mean, he could have bought me a drink, so thats old enough right??? Gosh.....what a dork.

I vote girl because of all of the morning sickness! Becky, I took meds during my first pregnancy for m.s., because we (dr and I) decided that was less risky than my puking so much!

Stace - as long as the date doesn't make the late news crime beat, he's not too young :lmao: :lmao:

Stace, a 34 year old friend of mine is dating a 25 year old!!!! We are all so jealous of her! 25! We all remember what guys were like then... DH is almost 40.

Never rule anyone out for age. :) I used to say, "I'll go out with anyone once...free dinner!"

Next time, go for it, girlfriend. :)

Oh, yeah...and my dh was 23 when we got married and I was 29! I used to joke that I never thought I would date someone who was 30 (God forbid!) and I didn't - for 7 years! :rotfl:

Of course, now that I am approaching 40 and he is not, I am not finding it quite so amusing :guilty:

I took the meds today for the puking.

Yeeeeaaaahhhh.... Still puked all day long.

I took the first pill at 4 am (because I was awake STILL). I thought- ok, now maybe I'll get some sort of sleep, and wake up nausea-free.

And I did. I woke up, felt a little yucky, but better than previous mornings, sat in the living room and sipped some water. Hopped into the shower and hurled like I was getting paid.

That pretty much continued all day. Except out of the shower and into the bathroom at work with the mean old hags I'm forced to call co-workers.

I will say that the meds did take the edge off the all-day-nausea. I just still threw up anyway. I felt better though, so we'll see. I'm having trouble getting enough liquids in- that's the only thing that really concerns me; I don't want to end up in the hospital.

I have an appointment next week to meet with my professor about my project, so that's a relief. I talked to her on the phone tonight and she was very friendly, as usual, just thinks I'm an idiot for not warning her I was dropping by a huge project unannounced. Oh well. What can ya do?

Stace- it ain't wrong if it ain't illegal! ;)
