Hello all! I'm back from the wedding. I promised you details. It was a really nice ceremony, the reception was a lot of fun. My friend and her new husband had a great time. Oh, and I looked totally hot. In case you were all wondering.
The bride looked amazing, and the new couple was soooo happy. The toast I gave went over better than I could have ever hoped for it to. I did almost lose the grooms ring right before the ceremony. I was fluffing the brides gown and the ring slipped off and rolled under a vanity in the dressing room. I didn't realize it till I was just about to walk down the aisle. I had to run back and crawl around the floor till I found it. All was fine. I fullflled every duty I had as MOH, which included using a hand held fan to cool down the bride's armpits. Oh yeah, she owes me big time. But what are friends for?
Sucky news, my date called at the last minute, one hour before the ship set sail, to tell me he worked overtime and wasn't going to make it after all. I was sooo po'd. He kept talking and going on about how sorry he was, I had no time to listen. So in the middle of him apologizing, I said I had to go, and hung up. He tried calling back later and texting much later that night. Once again worked comes before anything else in his life. And then he wonders why we aren't together.
Good news, I wasn't alone at the wedding. I had met one of the bride's (my best friend) cousin last year at a family dinner they had. We talked then and go along great. We had a connection, but I was with my ex and he never pursued anything. So at the wedding we ran into each other, I re intoduced myself, but he said "I remember you" and kissed my hand. Very sweet. So we hung out the rest of the night. Drinking, dancing, talking and a walk on the upper deck of the boat. While on the deck he told me that he was really hoping I was gonna be there at the wedding (he didn't know I was MOH) and besides the bride, I was the person he wanted to see. Lucky me, lucky him. He asked to kiss me, and so yeah, a little smooching. He asked for my number and said he would call the next day. But I know how boy time works and wasn't expecting a call. I got to my hotel after the wedding just about 12:15am, and my phone rings. Yep, he called since technically, it was the next day. We talked for a long time and he asked me out for this coming up weekend and asked me to be his guest at his other cousins wedding thats coming up. And he only lives about 6 blocks away. So I guess my date being a no show worked in my favor.
I still have my hair in the up do that I had for the wedding. I paid too much to just wash it out, plus there is more hairspray in it than I have had in my hair all year long. Ick. But it still looks cute. I am exhausted as all get out and cant wait to take a snooze.
How is everyone else doing? Anyone doing anything exciting for the holiday?
