OK, I'm going to bed.
My father is having surgery on his spine tomorrow. Not the discs, the spine itself. He had a car accident 20 years ago that left him in pain. He's had many surgeries, but quit about 10 years ago when they told him there was nothing more they could do but play around with pain meds until they found some combination that helped. Now that he has reached the max amount of morphine and percodan a person can take, he's trying one more new thing.
Only he could end up paralyzed...and still in pain.
I'm worried, cause he's had 2 heart attacks and people have heart attacks all the time during surgery and die. Doctors always say they would have had it even if they were sitting on the sofa, but I don't buy it. I tell the patients I do, of course. But it is BS. Something about surgery causes some folks to have MIs, and that's that.
So, wish my dad well, OK? I'm not asking for prayers (I've said before I have noticed that they don't work), but maybe some good vibes, OK?
Going to bed now. Night.
