Insomnia anyone?

it's almost 2am and I am still awake. Funny that as soon as I turned on my computer I felt sleepy. But I've had a conversation that I need to have running through my head since midnight. Now I'm yawning. I need to find an off switch for my brain. Oh and something to make my legs stop itching. They're not dry and I just shaved (I thought it was that). I changed my sheets and my PJs. It's not just one leg on one spot (a bite) it's both legs, below the calves, all over. I don't know what it is.

Well, I fell asleep and I think the last time I looked at the clock at 3am. I had to get up at 6:30am. I did however have a strange dream. I had a dream that Green Day was singing at my sons soccer game. And it wasn't the National Anthem either, lol. It was Wake me up when September ends.
I'm still tired...

MELATONIN!!!! It is a hormone produced in the brain that some people don't produce enough of, you can get it at a GNC, and it works! I take it and my kids take it. You have AWESOME dreams with it too! :sunny:

Seriously, if you have Insomnia, try it, costs like 2.99 a bottle for the 1mg and really that is about all you need, you might can take 2 if 1 isn't enough.

Melatonin

I also have this problem. It is definitely caused by stress.

I tried Ambien last month and stayed awake through the whole time the pill was "active" but I did get amnesia. It did not make me fall asleep.

Lately the Xanax (cheap) and Benadryl together has been a good combo for me.

Huge issue for me. Ever since I came off HRT, about 7 yrs ago I have had a severe sleep issue. I take 1/2 an Ambien every other night. The other nights I take a benedryl. My dh snores horrible and has basically moved into the guest room for those non-Ambien nights. Last night I tried to go without anything...that was a mistake!!! Up all night, tossing and turning. I would love to get some estrogen into my system but with the breast cancer in my family and my being a very high risk, that's not an option for me. Maybe I'll look into the meletonin. The Ambien does work for me and the doctor has no problem with my long term usage since I alternate nights and don't take a full dose when I do take it. It also cuts down on the cost...I pay about $50 for 30 tablets...but by cutting them in half and using them every other night, I only need a new prescrip every 3 months or so.
