Inside of the treehouse villas

We stayed in the treehouse villas when I was a child. My family (me, mom, dad, brother) split it with my aunt and cousins. There was plenty of room for all of us and I remember thinking it was the coolest place!

I know I must have pictures somewhere, but haven't run across them in years. Wonder if they're on an old roll of slides?! :scared:

That was one of our better vacations. :thumbsup2

It's too bad these aren't open to guests. I wish there were more/better options for large families at WDW, especially something more reasonably priced. We plan on having 5 kids and that is going to make our trips to Disney very hard. Even with #3 on the way I am struggling with where we are going to stay on our next trip.

I stayed in one back in 1991. They were nice, but I prefer the DVC villas they have now.

I love the Redskins too!!!!!!!!

I was in a treehouse in 1998-ish when a group of friends were staying there. The first floor had I want to think a laundry area and one bedroom, but no bathroom. Upstairs there were a couple bedrooms, a decent sized equipped kitchen, and a large living room. The decor would have made Carol Brady proud. Lots of dark brown wood and various shades of orange in the carpeting and upholstered furniture. The best part about it was the amount of space--they are deceptively spacious. The group I visited was eight people, and they were spread out all over the place--I'd say that they are actually more spacious than the DVC 2 BR's, but I'm going on memory.

My husband stayed in one with his family when he was a kid. I have asked him for details, but the most I can get out of him was "yeah, it was pretty cool".
There is such a mystique to these buildings. Even the first time I was at WDW as a teenager I remember driving by them and wondering what the deal with them was. This way predates any Disney Obsession days!

We stayed in a treehouse back around 1979. My mom told me the price was about $99 per night. We were supposed to be a group of 6, but my grandparents decided not to join us....so, we ended up as 4.

I do remember that we also rented a golf cart and we were able to drive to the Disney Village (aka Downtown Disney).

I also remember the buses with the flags and how we would have to sometimes change buses a couple of times to get where we were going.

Speed :teleport:

My fiancee stayed in these with her family sometime in the mid 90's. They have a home movie from that trip where they show a tiny bit of the place. I'd post it, however, it's on vhs and though I could get it transferred to my computer I haven't gotten around to it. If you all really demand it I'll try and find the tape and get it converted.
