Insert Catchy Title Here - An August PTR

:welcome:

Yay! Thanks for visiting my PTR! Doesn't Disney know that I've been waiting this whole time for hours to post?!

First off...I've lost all my patience waiting for the August hours to be posted. Seriously, where the heck are they?!?!

Just had to get that out of my system. So, I'll post one of my favorite memories from DHS. It was back in December 2007. DH and I were wandering through the park and made our way back to the Osborne Spectacle of Lights. :lovestruc It was just so euphoric watching the lights, listening to Christmas music and seeing it "snow" in Florida. I loved it! Even DH thought it was great. I could've stayed back there the entire trip and been content. I loved it!!

Beka, I love you! You cracks me up!

Ok, fav memory of 2005 trip (pre-Jack) is gosh.. all of it?? Is that allowed:rotfl2: No, but really, from the planning, to the 24 hour train ride, to the first site of the resort, and then first walking into the Magic Kingdom, it was all so so so magical. never in my life did I think I would have real family life, or be able to afford a trip anywhere, let alone to WDW with my 4 year old little princess! I'd say the most magical moment for me was walking up to CRT ( I knew nothing about ADR's then!) and asking if they had an open table, and being told to come back in a few..sure enough we were seated, ate an awesome meal(way back when the DDP had an app and tip was included, and CRT had the BOMB food choices!!)..not only was all that awesome, but we were seated right by the window and got to see wishes... My heart truly melted, and it took everything in me not to lose it right there! Needless to say, that is when I KNEW I had to go to Disney again..and again..and again..and again.. and again..get it??:rotfl:

Ok, then the 2008 trip... oh man...so many moments. We were a family in 2005, but now we were REALLY a family..we have a wonderful dd and an awesome lively DS... from the minute we walked on property Jack was elated! Kayla was just so happy to be back! It just felt like everything was right in the world! I don't even know what moment was the most magical..probably during wishes.. I get really choked up at those moments..or maybe it was during MNSSHP... that just made my life lol!

anywho..ok..now i'm all emo... I can't wait for more magical moments!!

Thank goodness they're up now! Now I can get some serious planning done!

I love the video I've seen of the Osborne lights. I was a member of a Christmas decorating website, & the guy who programmed them is/was a member. Yeah, I love Christmas 'bout like I love Disney!:santa:

Beka, saw that you had a PTR from my PTR so I headed on over, and I just finished catching up. I just need to tell you that I want to steal your son. He is absolutely adorable, OMG! (I don't really steal babies but he is awefully cute!) I love the ornaments you make, they are wonderful. I especially like the purple one (purple's my favorite color). Ok I don't know if anyone answered this or not but I know in AK they have carts that have fruit and possibly some pastries that you could have for breakfast. I'm not sure where they all are but I know there's one by the safari. So nursing is almost done (my last final's tomorrow!) Good luck with all of your finals!!! You are showing me up with all of those pics after I said I'd get some of my old ones up. Oh well I'll get that going after my final tomorrow (ok so it'll probably be on Thurs. cause I'll be too busy celebrating!:cool1:)

:cool1: Woo-hoo! Graduation!:cool1:
I was at the pinning ceremony for a bit yesterday and was getting all choked up! One of the girls who was graduating was in Anatomy & phys. with me; I'm so proud of her!

I totally think there needs to be a DIS meet for all of the nurses/nursing students on the board one day!

I know I'm going to start crying during the pinning, I'm going to miss everyone! It would be so much fun to have a DISmeet with all of the nurses!!!!

How'd the pinning ceremony go? When do you start back for your BSN?

Sorry I've been gone! We've been working on the sun room's book shelves & the computer is in there too. We also have friends in & are headed to Charleston today. Pics to come!

I haven't had the pinning yet, it's on Wednesday! Only 2 days away! I start back in the fall and then one semester and I'm done! Good luck with the book shelves and have fun in Charleston!

OOh!! Tomorrow is it! I hope you post a pic!

I looked at the shelves, and they really need another coat of paint, but I just don't feel like doing it! Ugh! I'll do it anyway, cuz if I don't do it now, I never will.

Charleston was awesome, though the place we wanted to eat is closed on Mondays, so we had to find another place.

I'll post pics soon, our dog is sick, & I think I'll have to take him to the vet today.

I just made baby talk to the monitor! :lmao:

I'm about to walk out the door to take Matches to the vet. I gave himone of Booger's Xanax this morning - big mistake - Matches doesn't realize he has back feet now! Poor thing!

You should start a nursing thread! I think all of that is on the community boards. Go for it. i know there's homeschool threads over there. Why not do a nursing one? Heck, maybe one is there already? :confused3

I hope your fur baby is doing okay.

Charleston...Sidney's home town. Love the place! Glad you had a fun day. Can't wait to see your pics and hear about what you guys did.

I swear I'll get those pics up soon. Matches is still really sick. He won't eat or drink anything, so I hand fed him a piece of bread with his food in it & he's kept that down. He can't walk more than a few feet without screaming in pain, so he's not gone potty in about 12 hours. I'm super worried & have called the vet twice, but of course they're closed.

Oh poor Matches :( Hope he gets well soon!

Puppy now has had a sedative, a series of X-rays, blood work, both of those came out normal. Doc gave him a dose of IV steroids, then sent home with prednisone, tramadol, and a muscle relaxant. Guesses it's his back, but isn't 100% sure, since the pain isn't localized. Poor puppy. I just hope he wants to eat or drink soon.

Our most recent journey takes us to the Charleston SC area. My good friend (ok, I guess one of my 2 best friends) Liz & her husband, Jonath, came in on Saturday to stay a few days, and went home Tuesday morning.

Sunday morning was a little bit of a slow start. We eventually got our collective hineys in gear & made it down to Huntington State Park to hit the sand & surf for a bit. Conner has visited the beach before, but has never felt the sand or surf, so he was really excited to try these new experiences.

I swear, every time I turned around, he would crawl off 10 feet or so, and be in the process of jamming a shell in his mouth.

On Monday, we headed to Boone Hall Plantation.

The first 3 original homes burned, and the one in the picture above was built in the 30s. Roots, North & South, & some other things have been filmed here. It’s a private residence, so we were only allowed to see a few rooms on the bottom floor.

Pics from around the property:

These are just a few of the slave houses that exist on property. There would be wooden shacks out in the fields, since the slaves had to stay close to where they worked.

I love the oak alley. It just screams “Ah’m frum thuh Sowth, Sugah” Grab a glass of sweet tea, a rockin’ chair, and sit a spell on the porch. Did ya see that dress Miss Betty wore to church? Bless her heart.

“Run Forest, ruuun!”

Boone Hall is a working farm, so we made sure we got some fresh strawberries. Conner approved!

Overall, Boone Hall was fun, but I’ll choose another plantation to visit next time. Kyle said he didn’t think it was worth the price of admission (about $17/person).

Next we headed into Charleston. Our plan was to go eat at Justine’s Kitchen (featured on both No Reservations & $40 a Day on the Food Network.) I had a massive hankerin’ for some fried chicken & coca-cola cake. I’ll be danged if it wasn’t closed! Closed on Monday! *tsk*

I texted a girlfriend of mine who went to the College of Charleston for a recommendation on where to eat. She suggested Vickery’s. We headed over, and I shot some pictures as we roamed.

We all split an order of the spring rolls & loaded tater tots for our appetizer. For my entrée, I had the fried green tomato BLT & added cheese. It was all pretty good, but I can’t be 100% certain on the apps cuz I had a glass of wine.

Some pics around downtown Charleston:

After dinner, it was time to head home. We had a blast! I love Charleston!
