Insect repellent

Anyone know how bad the bugs are this time of year? Do we need to take insect repellent?

Disney is very good about spraying all public areas for bugs. If you are planning an outing at night to say Fort Wilderness Campground I would bring some bug spray, but otherwise, the bugs are not noticeable in the parks or at the hotels. It doesn't hurt to pack some bug spray, but I doubt you would need to use it.

I'm a mosquito magnet. We were there in June and I got 10 bites despite wearing repellant every day. We also wore the ultrasonic repellants. My DH and DS did not get any bites! The bugs must think I have a sign on me which says "FREE BUFFET"!

You know that is the one thing that we have never had to bring to WDW. I can't even think of a time when anyone complained about being bit by bugs.

Just don't forget the sunblock!

I started taking a Vitamin B supplement (a blend of the B vitamins) a number of years back and rarely have mosquito bites now.

You've probably thought of it, but maybe wearing a skin safe repellent on your skin, then long pants and shirt, and something with DEET (?) on it sprayed onto the clothes would work.

We just returned and were dinner for a swarm of mosquitos (apparently) during AK EMH. Except for that, we didn't notice any biting bugs. We are calling all the bug bites our unwanted souvenirs! We had a great time and the only thing we would do differently is skipping AK EMH!

Unless there's a strong breeze, I always get bitten by mosquitos while waiting for Illuminations. I like the Cutter wipes.

My husband, who gets bitten frequently, says "Disney doesn't allow bugs". He might be right.

They do seem to have a very effective bug control program. There were 5 of us, we stayed 8 days and went to all the parks day and night. On our way home I asked had anyone gotten bit by any mosquito's... no one had noticed any at all all week!
