Insane idea or worth the effort?

I happen to be going to the LA area June 16/17th. I have an AP and about 6 hours to kill on Sunday the 17th. Am I truly crazy for thinking I should pop over to DLR and have an adventure?

I will probably be there from 1-6:30 pm, so I know I have almost no chance to ride any of the new things, but a stroll through Carsland and an ice cream kind of sounds fun. Or maybe just relaxed visit to DL.

My biggest question is if the effort to get there and back, park etc, is worth the few hours. I have a flight out of LAX at 8:45pm. My other option is to find something interesting to do closer to LAX, but what, I'm not sure.

Sounds like an outstanding plan! Disneyland is about atmosphere as much as rides, so even if you don't get on anything, you should still be good. You may even be able to get access to the GCH gym/spa and be able to take a shower before your flight, if you wanted.

How does that work without a room key?

I don't think the word "pop" will exist on that day. Of course none of us really know for sure, but IMHO it may take you a couple of hours just to get into the park. Parking and security check point may be really backed up. If you're looking for an "adventure." Then, yes!

If you were able to go at opening....I would say, "Go for it". But a Sunday after CL opens...and not until 1.....I would pass.

Yeah, I hate to be one to say to skip Disneyland/DCA, but I have to say that on THAT particular day, you're not going to get ANYTHING accomplished in those few hours anyway! I'd pass.

Yeah, I'm hesitant to recommend "popping in" to DL on that day. If it's really crowded you could conceivably be spending more time just getting there and leaving than in the parks themselves.

Maybe you can pop in to USH and do the Transformers ride instead?
