We have 7 nights in WDW but meals booked that will require 9 TS credits. I'm trying to figure out which to use the DP for and which to pay OOP.

Two adults, one child. We will get an app if (1) one is included or (2) one looks REALLY good. Otherwise, my husband will usually get a salad. Dessert is take it or leave it, depending on several factors.

Knowing all of that - here are my ADRs with as much detail as I can give. If I could get suggestions on which one (or two?) to pay OOP, I would REALLY appreciate it!

Day 1 (checking in mid-afternoon CBR) dinner rez at Shutters.

Day 2 - Nothing booked. I had Liberty Tree until I listened to the (HYSTERICAL, btw .. ) podcast review, then decided I didn't want to use a credit here and maybe we could just do 2 CS here.

Day 3 - Cape May breakfast.

Day 4 - Candlelight Processional lunch package at Chefs. (2 credits)

Day 5 - Kona Café dinner

Day 6 - Raglan Road dinner

Day 7 - Mama Melrose (non-Fantasmic) lunch

Day 8 - leaving ... CRT breakfast. (2 credits)

Am I obsessing over pennies, or does everyone do this? :) Financially, is it better to pay for one of the 2-credit meals OOP? CRT could run us about $150 or so OOP, one or two of the other places might only run us $50 or so each, depending on what we have.

I think CRT is the best place for you to pay OOP. Where do you get $150....breakfast is less than $60 pp and tip is already included. Depending on when you're going, it may even be around $53 pp which is only $106 for the two of you AND again that includes your tip.

Your TS credits have an approx "value" of $38 if that helps you decide.

Something else to consider is to share a meal. You can do this at most TS locations (except buffets, etc. of course). You and your DH can share the entree and dessert and if you want order an appetizer and pay OOP for it (like a salad, etc.) This will save you some credits to use at other locations.

Cost is for 2 adults and one child. Not sure if you missed that or not.

This is a great idea that I didn't even think of. I knew you couldn't share buffets, but I didn't think sharing at ALL was OK while on the DDP.

And now that I think about it, at Kona we may just end up wanting sushi instead of "food", so that would be OOP.

Sorry, I did miss that. You'll want to use child TS credits at any and all buffets as the price for the buffet is about the same as the price of the DDP for the entire day. Choose two of your a la carte places for them to pay OOP. You don't all have to use your credits at the same place. The adults can pay OOP at CRT and use kids' credits for your child at same place.
