Hi Jen,
I hope this information helps.
If you are aren't sure where to begin, first look at the Cruise Critic site to get an idea about the cruise lines and ships, as well as destinations and the people they are catering to:
http://www.cruisecritic.com/
And since you are posting here, you may be set on Disney:
The Disney ships, the Magic and the Wonder, are both fairly new. The Magic was built in 1998 and the Wonder in 1999, and the Magic just underwent an extensive refurbishment last fall.
The Magic is the ship that sails the 7 day intinerary, Eastern or Western Carribean; the Wonder sails the 3 and 4 day routes in the Bahamas.
So first you'd have to decide how long you want to travel, which destinations you like, and go from there. If you are set on cruising on Disney, you can read this message board for ideas and preference for people your age. You should also go right to the
Disney Cruise line web site and browse through to see if it sound right for you. Here's the site:
http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/disneycruiseline/index
Then I would come back to the boards and check the various travel agents. You can book through
Disney Cruise Line (
DCL) but usually the travel agents who specialize in cruises and
Disney vacations offer specials and better discounts. Try
Dreams Unlimited, who sponsor this board. People have been very happy with their service, and they are currently offering a very good rebate that will save you some $$$.
Sorry this is so long, but there's so much to say... or is that just me blabbing as usual!
Have a blast planning!
Kathy
