Lots to do:
1. Any choice on when to go? Many times of year are not as busy as others. If you have a choice about this, consider late fall (but not Thanksgiving) or January. Park crowds tend to be their lightest during these periods. April after spring break and May can be good too.
2. How long will you stay, and how much time in the WDW parks? This is important to try to figure out the best ticketing and lodging deals.
3. In what way do you want to see WDW? If you stay off-site (or at the All-Stars or POP), drive to Orlando, and eat cheap meals, it's possible to do a week for well under $2000. OTOH, if you fly, spend the same time at the Grand Floridian, and eat on-site TS meals every meal, things could easily reach $7000 or more.
4. Park tickets are expensive, and it's not easy to find much more than a 5% discount on them. Gate price on a 5-day park hopper (14-day expiration) is around $254 with tax. Longer trips cost less per day for park access - the same ticket for 10 days is only $266! 5 more days for $12! Look
here for the current Magic Your Way tix pricing.
That's a good place to start. Once you have those things figured out, you can start thinking about what other things you need to plan. There's tons of info here, so just take a look.
Good luck!
Tim, who is addicted to WDW trip planning!
