I also believe they will sail on 8/9 as if there were questions they wouldn’t be doing the cast cruises that only ‘became known’ at the completion of the test sail.

But until they come out and SAY it along with all The guidelines and policies for the first weeks of cruises and let people confirm or bail we all wait..

Hopefully I didn’t jinx it by ordering our cups for our Sept cruise today..

Book with Confidence & Cancellation Policy Information | Disney Cruise Line
(go.com)

Cancellation allowed until 59 days (except suite and concierge who lose their deposit). - Cruises sailing through Dec 31,2021

Sail date change allowed until 15 days. Cruises sailing through Dec 31, 2021 booked by July 31, 2021.

Then the 14 day ‘Covid’ window becomes activated so if you have within the 14 days to move or cancel if you have symptoms/quarantine etc. I’m not sure what proof would be required to use this option (like if you need a dr note confirming your fever/quarantine etc or just call and say I had a 100 degree fever/my coworker was diagnosed etc I want my money back?)

Does anyone know if the other cruise lines adjusted their cancellation policies for their first 1-2 cruises back? It seems appropriate to allow greater flexibility (i.e. no strings attached full refund or increased FCC) given that full policies are being released so close to cruise time, but I wasn't sure if there was precedent for this by the other lines (not that Disney has to follow, but it would at least be a place to start).

Given all the uncertainty, are people buying travelers insurance? We're booked for our first cruise ever on the Aug 23 Dream sailing and I bought the cheapest insurance plan possible just a few days ago just in case. I know nothing about this, would love to know what more experienced cruisers think.
