Info on the Ellen attraction.

it was our one and done ride... it was great to cool off.. but we were bored!!

I think it's cute. It's hit or miss with us. Will probably try and see it again in October since we missed it the last trip. I agree with everyone in that its nice on a hot to day to take a break. I don't find it boring.... Plus if you have kids they actually may even learn something. Funny thing.... It is one of the only things I remember from my very first trip ever when I was five. I distinctly remember the dinosaurs.... And that kind of musty smell. Of course... It wasn't Ellen back then but something else. Anyone remember what it was?

I think parts of it are really interesting and fun, it's the ending when you are just sitting there that is kind of boring.

It is very long! But you are indoors in the AC and its a great break from the heat. Sometimes it seems longer than others, I think one time we were on it for an hour+

I always liked the ride. I like the role Jamie Lee Curtis played. A bit outdated, but still informational. The animatronics are a bit slow, but the ride is still nice to see. I try to think of how new it was pre the Jurassic Park movie with computer animation. It does have some educational value.

I really enjoy Ellen's Energy Adventure. My whole family's convinced Bill Nye is secretly a Time Lord! :lmao:

It never feels like 45 minutes. I'd put it on par with the Living With the Land boat ride, for entertainment value.

I have been to Disney several times and am determined to do all the things this trip that I have never done in the past. I have never done the Ellen attraction. Is it an actual ride or an attraction? I have heard that it is very long and boring, if so, is it possible to leave if I wanted or does it move and then I am stuck there. I'm sure I will enjoy it, but hate to be stuck for that long if it truly is that bad. Thanks for the info

It can be a little long depending on when you enter. It is a video show for a few minutes and then a ride through to learn about energy. My family enjoys it and it's a nice way to relax a little and rest up. I won't spoil it by telling you what happens, but it is a nice relaxing (and informative) ride.

It's a nice attraction. I recommend experiencing at least once. I actually stayed awake the first few times we rode it. Now it is a lovely napping spot.

This was the first trip that we didn't do it. I really enjoy some parts but others are boring and I didn't feel like being trapped for 45 mins this time.

I would definitely try it once though.

Do it!! It's a good attraction.

If you can get a hold of an Imagineering Field Guide there is a lot of good information about the building and attraction.

We've tried it twice but have only rode once.....:rolleyes1 First time, waited forever for the video to start, then went through all of that. Then got into the vehicle seating. Well, they do really mention it like 45 times about the ride taking so long and you cannot leave and if you cannot stay seated that long do not ride etc etc. Well of course, what happens, not even two seconds after they mentioned it for the last time and said ok the ride is starting. It starts, and the girl behind me stands up.:scared1: Instantly stopped. The CMs say ok, everyone has to unload and exit. The ride has to be reset and try back in a few hours. Everyone was pissed! The CMs were very irritated, you could tell and one had somewhat of an attitude with the girl and her family about "ruining" it for everyone. It was quite the little scene. I'd say the girl was probably 16 yrs old or older.

We came back later in the day and successfully rode it, but I don't think we will ride it again. Cute ride, but that first experience was a very big time waste.

Took me years before I actually tired it, but now it is a must do! Yes, it is long, but it has Ellen, Bill Nye, and dinosaurs! I love it!

Stupid Judy, stupid energy!

14 posts...and finally someone said "stupid Judy" that usually becomes the catch phrase for our family during the week.

You can NOT up and leave. If you try to, they have to stop the whole ride and evac it so they can reset. Do not get on this ride unless you know you can stay on the whole time. It will ruin the whole ride for everyone if one person tries and leaves.

agree ! the last time there on 2 separate days this happened ..It ticked me off something fierce ..they only announce that you can't leave ( both in english and spanish ) MULITPLE times..
OP it is definitely worth a look-see if you have never done it

Another :thumbsup2 for this ride. It is not a must every trip for us, but we always seem to end up hitting it anyway.

I enjoy it. My son loves dinosaurs, so that is why we took it the first time. They are only there for a min. but still neat to see.

One suggestion, when entering, you go into a standing theater for the "pre-show"- go to the back. There are several benches to sit on. They make you stand up if you are in the middle area when the opening movie plays and it lasts a good 10 min. It is not so special that you have to be up front to enjoy it, so sitting in the back sure helps.

We have done it every trip. The only thing is I have fallen asleep every time so have not seen the whole ride. We even got stuck on it twice and had to walk to the end.

My 2nd grader just saw a video of Bill Nye in school (about weather) and she thinks he's great! I can't wait to take her on this ride when we go so she can learn some more from him.

His Dancing with the stars appearance coming up will help boost interest in him as well I would think!!
