info on disneyland (california)

Hello, fellow DISers! Just a quick question . . . any insight on Disneyland ? I've been to WDW several times, but never out to the west coast. I have the chance to go while there on business next month, and wondered if anyone can give me some tips on the park. What are the best rides? (I'm an adult traveling alone) How do they differ from the ones at MK? Is there anything I shouldn't miss? Anything I should? Lots of questions I know, but I'll only be there one day, and want to get all the magic I can!!! Thanks for the help!

Our family went in 2001 for the first time. I loved it! The weather is great. We went in July. Cal. Adventure had just opened and the jury was out on whether it was acceptable or not. We stayed at The Grand Californian, got a pkg. deal, and the view from our balcony was wonderful - you could see DCA's raft ride and it wasn't even noisy.

DisneyLand is like MK, so you won't be park hopping like at WDW. But this means you can slow your pace down a bit. MK also has Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. DCA has a great roller coaster that was alot of fun and don't miss Soaring Over California (but if your prone to motion sickness like me, take some Dramamine).

If you stay at Grand Californian, you just walk right onto the DCA property - it's so convenient.
