Not sure if the Resort board is the best place for this question, but I'll start here!
Can anyone provide me any info/links, etc. on the golf courses on the Disney property?

We're spending Superbowl weekend at AKL with another couple. The girls are going to "spa" and the guys want to golf.

Go to the official site and look there. Here is the link... it should work www.disneyworld.com then look to the top, and select recreation and activities. YOu may have to go through several screens, but you will eventually come to golf, and on the left side of the screen, you can select the different courses, and read all about the, get the prices, etc. My DH really enjoyed playing there in October!

I reccomend the Palm or the Magnoilia, ive played the palm and it was really nice and a little diffiicult , i heard the magnolia may be nicer so id'd pick either of those two.

Second recommending Marc's site. It gives all kinds of great info. Since "golf" is DH's middle name (the only way I get him to WDW is the promise of letting him play lots of golf), here's his recommendations of courses. His favorite was Osprey Ridge, but it's the most expensive. However, the least expensive is Lake Buena Vista, which DH ranks a "best buy"-nice course in excellent condition. But then, he says all the courses are in excellent condition and have plenty of water (important for people who play in midday in summer as he does).

palm and then osprey

we are going down to dw in late jan for the pga merchandise show and then onto the grand floridian for a couple of weeks- i hope the weather is good enough to get in a few dozen holes myself- depneding on his handicap - he should enjoy any of the top 4 courses-

there are plenty of excellent courses outside of disney that are much better than the ones on site

thanks

I agree with everyone who has suggested playing the Palm course. It is a challenging course, but not nearly as challenging as the Magnolia. My bf and I are both 6 handicaps, so we go to Disney to play golf often...and when I was in college, the men's and women's conference championships were held at the Lake Buena Vista course (Magnolia this year, but unfortunately, I graduated a couple years ago).

When I played Magnolia in November, it was only a couple weeks after the PGA had played the National Car Rental tournament there and the rough was impossible, but it kind of made it fun in a way. The Palm is nice, I played there just a few weeks ago and it was in great shape...Also, LBV isn't as long as the other two courses, but still enjoyable as it winds its way through the resort. People come out on their balconies and watch the golfers go by, it was a lot of fun when we were in college, it was like we had a gallery :)

The Eagles and Osprey and has now played them all. He loved the Eagles and Magnolia best of all.

They have a special on right now for resort guests..not sure when it ends..$164...(approx )for 2 rounds of golf on any Disney course. That's really good because in June my husband played one round/one course for $152.95!!!

Check it out!:D

After last month's visit we (me and my parents) have now played the Palm, Magnolia and Osprey Ridge. All agreed that we enjoyed the Palm better than the Magnolia. Although the Magnolia was very playable when we played it, the Palm seemed to have more interesting landscaping. Osprey Ridge is very nice and feels so quiet and isolated.

FYI, my Dad is retired military, and was able to use the $45 military rate, good for the military member and up to 3 guests, at any course. Great rate!!! Only disadvantage is you can only get tee times one day in advance, but in the offseason it wasn't a problem.
