info about campsites...

Hello everyone...
ok....we have never camped at Disney before but have stayd at Animal kingdom Lodge in April 2003..as of right now we do not have reservations but I am thinking of trying to get reservations for this coming weekend for about 5 nights...starting on Sunday..It will be my daughters 14th birthday the following weekend and as they are out of school still right now due to hurricane Ivan I thought it would be a great time to go...
Calling all you people who have camped before at disney...We are campers so I am not worried about that..although it will just be me and the kids ...my spouse will not be traveling with us this time..what can you tell me...

Any information will be good at this time.....But hey it's disney...it will be a great time anyway you look at it...although we are certainly on a budget due to Hurricane Ivan.....who knew it would cost that much to evacuate !!! but all is well with our family so one cannot comlpain..so many are less fortunate..

FW is a great place! Bring your bikes--lots of neat places to ride!! I'd call right away and see if there are openings. Lots of people have had to reschedule due to the storms.

Ok just recvd our reservations...We will arrive Sunday 3rd October and check out on Friday 8th October...... I also got a great rate as we are retired military...

Any tips on what i can do for my daughter as it will be here 14th birthday...

Jag: Glad you made it through Ivan. I am in the north end of the county and we took a pounding from trees, so I can imagine what you got in Navarre.
We are leaving FRI at 5 am so we can get to Disney at a decent time. We had orignally thought to buy our perishables and meats in Orlando, but from what we are still going through in Milton/Pace we decided to take everything we need. (Wal-Mart still scarce on Meats)
Also, we are carrying ten gallons of gas with us. I passed 5 gas stations coming to work from Chumuckla into Milton and could not find gas!
I was also hoping for any locals to give advice on gas/food situations around Orlando.
Perhaps we will see you there, not sure what we will have the camper decorated with but my white Expedition has a FSU Mom and a Jamacian One Love flag (long story!) stickers on the back
My husband and I are bringing 4 children--2 ours: DS4, DS7; a nephew who is 9 and a niece who is almost 14 (going on 25!)
