Influenza/Flu

My 12yo had it earlier this winter and I had probably had it a few days before. My 6yo probably had it, aslo. Only my 12yo was tested for it. I had the flu shot this year and I hate to think how severe it would have been without the shot--I was one sick puppy and it took a while to fully recover. I think that the strain of the flu might have been different than the shot, or at least that's what I heard.

When you have the Flu you will know it..Truer words were never spoken!
Day 4 still 101 but the coughing is the worst and the weakness. My Grandchildren have terrible coughs still (10 days after onset) and my Granddaughter suffers from asthma so was advised to use the nebulizer twice a day.
May those of you still sick feel better, and thanks to those offering information! :goodvibes

Adults: For those of you who've had it, how did it start?

DS (11) had it from Friday-Tuesday. He went to school yesterday and today and is still on the nebulizer.

About 2 days ago, my throat had a minor burning feeling that I was *hoping* was due to pollen. All of a sudden, today, that burning is developing into a more painful throat. I know my son started with a sore throat, but I think his developed rapidly--hard to tell though because he already has so many allergies.

God, I don't want to get this.

Both my daughter and I started with the cough. The children with the high fever. My granddaughter has had a relapse and is running 103 temp again. She got sick a week ago yesterday and returned to school just Tuesday. She will be seeing the Dr later today.

In our house is came on like a regular cold. Which I thought it would be, but it was far worse than that. It was after the 4th or 5th day and it was still so bad that we went to the DR. and he diagnosed ds w/ the influenza virus. I was as bad as him w/ the same symptoms just a few days later. I, however, was not tested but assumed I had the flu too. DH- I just don't know. The doctor says it's extremely rare to get it and feel pretty good in 3-4 days-- usually he says that would be just a cold and not the flu. So, his might of just been a coincidence that he just got a cold at the same time :confused3 . Anyways we started w/ regular cold symptoms that progressed quickly over about 24 hours.
