I guess. If so, that seems like a hell of a cost premium over the other cabanas with no view, considering that OV rooms are not a 50% point premium over SV. They are more like 20-30%.Ok, so probably more because they have the best view.

$250…. I bet people will pay it.I guess. If so, that seems like a hell of a cost premium over the other cabanas with no view, considering that OV rooms are not a 50% point premium over SV. They are more like 20-30%.
I totally agree. Not sure I will, but other people will almost certainly pay it.$250…. I bet people will pay it.
Yeah, $750 is a lot. I guess if you were going with a larger group they could split the cost 3 ways and then it’s $250 per couple….. hard to justify va just upgrading the room for most…..I totally agree. Not sure I will, but other people will almost certainly pay it.

How busy is it compared to your Feb trip? Here now. Two tented cabanas have been added to the splash area. Don’t know if this has already been remarked upon.
It’s busy, but not monumentally so. There are empty casabellas available on the deck by Ama Ama, and relatively short waits for dinner at Off The Hook, and no wait for the Olelo Room. The pool is always busy, but we don’t really hang out there so for us it’s no big deal. The beach actually doesn’t seem that crowded at all. So, it’s much more manageable than we had anticipated, busier than last January but nowhere near the crowd level of last summer at this time. My wife and I are loving it!How busy is it compared to your Feb trip?
We have friends staying in Waikiki with their kids and they drove over to Aulani just to see the resort for the day…. this makes me think the swell of overall tourism on Oahu and local schools being out would make the summer quite busy there.
The website still says they will all accommodate 7 people. So maybe these ARE bigger, then? The tents didn't look any different from what I could tell. Maybe they just crammed another chaise lounge in there?Apparently they are more pricey due to the fact that they can accommodate up to 12 guests instead of 6 (or was it 8…?) If all four of those cabanas are filled to capacity, that’s a ton of people for that small area!![]()
If you have the chance, some pictures would be great!Since there were a lot of questions and confusion on the cabanas the last few weeks, I am here now and can clarify where they stand.
There are now a total of 12 cabanas being used. 8 are priced at $550 and appear basically to be the setup that was there previously. The numbers at locations are
-3 at Menehune Bridge area
-2 at kids splash zone area
-3 in the back at the old adults only pool location.
There are 4 side by side that are $750. These are next to the wall by Four Seasons near the infinity pool. The main difference I can tell is that there is a dining table that seats 4 for each cabana along with the 2 chaise lounges and seating under the tent. It is also a little more secluded with a small wall acting as a barrier in front and a rope barrier behind it. It’s also on a slight elevation from the surrounding chairs making it more set apart. Only 3 of those are being used today.
I’ll plan to do it later this week.If you have the chance, some pictures would be great!
And send some food and drink as well.I’ll plan to do it later this week.

Here’s some photos from different angles. There is more space under the tent but I’m not sure the seating under it is actually more. There is a larger mini-fridge and drawer space. Also the dining table that seats 4 outside. If you have the chance, some pictures would be great!
So, the cabana itself looks the same - it's just that there is now a table/umbrella with chairs? It that the only difference? Here’s some photos from different angles. There's definitely more floor and storage space, but outside of the table, I don't think any more seating space. The pros to upgrade to that are the table to eat on, bigger fridge, more room to move around in, a little more privacy without anyone walking right in front of your cabana, and a view of the ocean. That said, if you're a party of 5 like we were, I don't see any reason to get it. The family/group of 10 checking in before me definitely needed it.So, the cabana itself looks the same - it's just that there is now a table/umbrella with chairs? It that the only difference?
Not sure that's worth an extra $200...
