I don't know if you read blogs, but I found them really helpful when we were going through out fertility issues.

http://alittlepregnant.typepad.com is the mother of all fertility blogs. She and a small group of women started it all back a few years ago. She has two young children now.

You might also like http://ivfconnections.org which is a forum for all sorts of fertility issues and people undergoing different types of treatment (as well as people who are adopting or choosing to live childfree).

I should warn you that some of the bloggers are a little "salty" with their language, but most are funny and there is no patient more informed than a infertile woman (or so says my RE). You will find lots of information and support.

There's a great 'Trying to Conceive' section at twoweekwait.com There are a bunch of message boards, oodles of which deal with infertility, both generally and specifically. The ladies there are soooo nice (you should see the stupid questions that never get flamed ) and it kept me sane during all my time TTC.

I've struggled with infertility due to PCOS for quite some time, but I'm happy to say I'm now 13 weeks pregnant with our first child. In the end it was Clomid that saved us. After only 3 months of it, we conceived our sticky bean! (You'll learn a whole new language over there, too! A sticky bean is a pregnancy that makes it past the first trimester).

Doctors that are trained in this really try to get at the root cause of what's causing the infertility; they have a good success rate.

As the wife I feel a lot is on my shoulders (and I'm really controlling of my environment ) but trying to figure out where to begin is overwhelming. I'm just soaking up information now and plan on presenting some ideas/game plans to DH.

I will ceratinly take a look at this website. I'm trying to figure out the best fertility clinic to visit and work with. I never realized our area had so many "best in the area" fertility clinics .

Have you talked to your OB/GYN about this? That's where you should get a referral (though I would assume your OB/GYN would have you try Clomid for a few months before referring you elsewhere).

No I haven't. I'll set an appointment with her while I am on my lunch break. Thank you for this obvious answer I swear, when I have so much going on the most obvious answer is never in front of me.

You can also go to http://www.fertilityties.com/ for support. They have a great forum and the doctor (Dr Q.) that started the site answers questions for you too in the "ask the doctor" section. I vouch for him 100% because he is my RE doctor and did get me my first son via IVF....we are working on number 2 as we speak. But there is good info and nice folks here going through all sorts of things and some credible doctor responses without the standard "make and appt and we can talk about your situation" responses.

You don't need to answer this, but has your dh been tested? A relative of mine went thru 3 years of fertility treatment before we made the offhand comment about her dh getting tested. She had gone thru Clomid, etc even though there was no indication that she had problems with fertility. Turns out, her dh had never been tested. When he was tested, turns out he was completely infertile and there was no hope AT ALL of him ever fathering a child with anyone. They wasted 3 years of time, lots of money and she went thru he!! with his family blaming her for the problem, when a simple test would have set them down a different path. It's important to know the full story and sadly, a lot of doctors who treat this problem are misogynistic and assume it's always the woman's "fault."

Me and my DH went through 5 years of trying to have a baby. You can only take it one step at a time. Go to your Dr. and ask to get the ball rolling with tests. My husband got tested and they told him he was completely sterile. I don't know what made us do this but we went for a second opinion with his test and turns out he is very fertile. The Dr. explained that it sometimes happens with that sort of testing. Then we found the problem was me. My OBGYN did an HSG test to see if my tubes were blocked and they were. The next step we took seemed to be not needed according to my OBGYN but I had the tubal reconstruction surgery to see if that would open my tubes up enough to get pregnant. Needless to say that didn't work and the only option we had left was IVF. We are lucky that my DH's insurance pays up to a certain amount for IVF. My DH did all my shots and it seemed really simple once you got started. Then my DR. reccommended we put 3 embryos in and one stuck. We have a sweet DD and cannot believe to this day she is here. I am actually going through the proccess now to do a frozen embryo transfer. We had 2 left over and we are going to try those. It will be sometime next month. I hope this is helpful, I feel like it was just a bunch of rambling, but I understand how infertility feels. But there is hope, and I hope everything works out for you. I used www.fertilityfriend.com a lot when I was going through IF treatments.

I will say that going to a RE made all the difference in the world for me, my OB/GYN couldn't/didn't do much. But the RE got things going and quick.

Resolve does not have an on-line forum from what I can see, but they do have local chapters, and deal with all aspects of family-building (fertility treatments, adoption, choosing to remain child-free, etc.)

I don't know how long you are into your process or spoken with your doctor or anything but I really recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It has some great insights and even a cd to help you chart and all that. I've recommended it to several people and now they are all pregnant. I don't know if really helped that much but can't hurt. Everyone has given excellent websites and advice so I'm just going to extend some ((((Hugs))). DH and I tried to conceive for 5 years. I have PCOS and we had went through all kinds of testing before the doctor finally told us that was our problem. I know how stressful infertility can be on you as an individual and as a couple. Luckily we finally conceived and we now have two beautiful girls...ages 6 and 4. Hang in there..
