and missed my old Olympus D 450 Zoom.

Yeah, I still have that camera hanging around here somewhere. It has trouble focusing at times now. Took really nice pictures (escpecially night shots) for a small pixel short zoom from 1999. Sigh........ Decisions were so easy then. lol

It always bothered me when a new poster in this forum would start a thread asking for help and mentioning the camera they had only to have a reply from somebody(wont mention names) telling them how bad their camera is. And the OP never really asked for opinions on the camera. Just imagine the horror of asking for help but instead you get replies and replies pointing out how bad your camera is...

I think everybody should be welcome here regardless of the camera they use or skill level they "currently" have.

I apoligize if some have been made to feel less than that.

Thank you  well said & worth reposting. :cheer2:

All of these pictures are beautiful! I have a few flower pictures I'm going to post myself. The hot air balloons are gorgeous - what color! And I am a total sucker for any pictures of the 4th floor Concourse at the CR - it's one of my favorite places in all of WDW. :wizard:

Here are a few I took today with my brandy new Canon S3 IS. The leaves are just starting to change around here; my favorite time is right now when there are still some green leaves for contrast:

This is one I'm kind of iffy about - I was playing with the focus. I can't decide if I like it or not:

Nice photo! Where was it taken?
Thank you.
It was taken standing outside on the Balcony of I believe the 4th floor, the floor with the shops and restaurants. The monorail is coming from the MK

Amy - I love your photos with your new S3! The last one bothers my eyes a bit - like they can't decide where to rest on the photo, but it could just be my over 40 eyes!! :goodvibes I love the second one - very sharp and great color!! Keep those fall shots coming, our colors here in the Cincinnati area haven't really started yet :guilty:

Unfortunately moderators don't have lots of spare time to do thread makeovers but (over in the Transportation Board) I have done them, pulling out barbs, etc. So well that others have complained.

Disposable cameras can yield great pictures. Cameras that act up or otherwise malfunction should be replaced or at least be left at home.

This may look stupid but, get a 3x5 card and cut a hole 2x3 inches (if your camera is 35mm) or 2x 2-2/3 inches (if your camera is digital). Look through this card to frame out a scene before taking a picture. Pay attention to what is seen at the corners, too. You can also use the camera viewfinder but the image is much smaller. For non-digital cameras you would need to do some practice shots in advance because the actual picture's edges might not match the viewfinder.

Pictures of fireworks or outdoor lighted decorations need a night mode setting or manual camera settings.

Most photography experts say that an obvious dividing horizontal line in the scene, such as the horizon, should be a little above or a little below the center line of the picture.

Thanks for that post, I have always been wary of posting here apart from the photo competitions.

Now for my camera, I have the Minolta Dimage G600, I previously had the G400 which I think that was better on night shots than this one. I probably get only a couple of good night shots the rest I have to delete.

Here's a couple of photos taken last week and the only thing I've done is to resize them.

Another happy Kodak user here! I bought my CX7430 back in February 2005 and have loved it ever since. It took great pictures from the beginning but I think my pictures have improved as I've learned to use the camera more.

This is my favorite picture that I've ever taken. It was taken at the Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, MD. Its the New York State monument. June 2006

I will have to re upload some of my Disney photos since they don't look as good on Yahoo since they get shruken down.

Ok, this is my first time posting a photo, hope it works.
If it does, it was taken at the Phila Zoo recently.

Very nice, Philagoofy. He's beautiful, but I don't think I'd want to get to close to him, LOL. :scared:
