Infand and Toddler sharing seat on plane?

From my experience, this is not true.

I flew with a lap baby several times, and I was always told there would be 4 oxygen masks dropping (over our 3 seats) to cover the three seated people AND my baby.

There should be an extra mask in each row per side for a lap baby. That's why there are limits to how many lap babies per row etc.

I'm sorry I passed along bad info about the oxygen masks. I had read something from a flight attendant a while back that said this.
Also- I don't know if you might be interested but I just remembered there is a baby flight vest you can get for lap seated babies. It is called Baby B'Air Flight Vest.

Hi! We will be traveling to Disneyworld at the end of Aug. I purchased my daughter a seat b/c she's 3.5 but I did not purchase my son a seat b/c when we go he will only be 10 months old. I figured between my husband and I we could hopefully manage him. He's a pretty easy baby. I was thinking though that maybe the kids could share a seat while we were flying since we do not plan to bring a carseat on the plane. I know we will have to hold him during take off and landing. Has anyone tried this? If so, how did it go? They are both small enough to share a seat.

Maybe - for a short time when the seatbelt sign is not on. For takeoff and landing he will be required to sit on your or dh's lap outside of the seatbelt.

Rather than share a seat they may be able to switch off for a while if the baby wants to sit and the todder wants some lap time. They will not at any time be allowed to share a seatbelt as one will end up acting as an airbag for the other in the event of turbulance. While the seatbelt sign is on however your 3yo will be required to be belted into her seat and the baby on your or dh's lap.

The Baby B'Air vest is not FAA approved for takeoff or landing which is clearly stated in the ads for the vest. In my experenice most FA's won't allow it's use at all since it doesn't have the FAA approval sticker required of CRS's.

There is a new harness that is FAA approved called the CARES harness but it requires the child to have his or her own seat which the OP dosen't have.
