I'm not a traveler so you please help me out with some newbie questions that popped up reading some threads:

I'm flying Delta.
I'm going to check in online before we go.from home. So I will print the boarding passes there right??? How do I pay for my luggage? can I call that BAGS number or pay on Delta's website before we leave? It's a very small airport.

I'll be using the Resort Check In Services at Disney. Will they issue a boarding pass for me, if not how do I get one? I will use BAGS to pay for luggage coming back right?

Also, I went online and choose our seats so I don't have to worry right?

Can I pack snacks and treats for the kids in their carry on's right? Just no liquid before security?

With a 20 month old and a 3 year old should I board first or last? :)

My answer: When you check in for your flight to get your boarding passes, it will ask whether you are checking bags. You will indicate how many bags you are checking and it will ask for credit card info to pay for those bags. You may need to note that each flyer is checking one bag (instead of one flyer checking 4 bags, for example) so you aren't charged a premium for extra bags.

My answer: At ME when you check in, you'll be given a sheet with some information. Also, a few days before you check out, another sheet will be put on your door. There is a special number to call if you have bags to check. That number is available to call between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, I was on hold for about 8 minutes before I talked with the agent. You need to have your airline confirmation number. They will get all the information from you, including your credit card info, to get you set up. Then, the morning of your check out, you'll receive your boarding passes and luggage tags. It works really well.

My answer: You should be fine, but it will not hurt to check a few days before you leave to make sure they didn't make any changes. Do that on both ends.

My answer: You can pack snacks and treats for your kids. They can also bring the allowable liquids (in the 1 quart ziplock) in thier carry on bags. Best to just wait and purchase drinks after security. You can also bring an empty water bottle to fill up at a drinking fountain after security.

My answer:

I have only one child and frequently travel alone with her. I don't really see an advantage to boarding early. It just makes the kids have to sit in a confined space longer. We just board when our row is called. While it costs more to check bags now, I would opt to carry on as little as possible with small children. You definitely want changes of clothes (including a swimsuit) and stuff for them to eat and do, but not much more than that. The less you have to carry and try to stow on the plane, the easier it is for you to handle your kids. People with more than one child might have more experience for you.

have a great trip.
