Inexpensive Souvenirs?

What's the most inexpensive souvenir that you've seen at the DLR? I'd like to buy 14-16 small, fairly cheap mementos for my team at work while I'm at Disney for business (seriously, right? :cool1:), and could use some ideas.

Even if it's something simple like a Disney pen, or maybe even cheap pins, if there's a wide variety of character selection and it's cheap (think less than $3) what have you guys seen for so little?

The only souvenir cheaper than $3 at a Disney park is a pressed penny. And those might not go over so well at work. "That Elf is the cheapest dude I know! A Penny?!?!"

Maybe one of those tall swirly lollipops that has Mickey and the Gang on the wrapping? That might be around the $3 range.

Another option is to look for items that come in sets that can be easily broken up. They also sell foam Mickey head keyrings (I don't remember the price, but I remember they were cheaper if you bought a certain number).

One year we bought a big bucket of little plastic toy story aliens to bring back for the kids friends. I think it was about $13 for the bucket and there were probably about 20 aliens in there.

What about getting a few bundles of the Mickey head lollipops and giving each person one? I *think* they are around $5/pack and there are 5 or 6 in the pack iirc.

Postcards?

I agree with the Mickey head suckers too! And before I know they used to sell little round button pins, with different characters on them and they weren't too pricey(they were always displayed in the queue for the registers, not out with other merchandise). Alien bucket is an awesome idea! Got that for my kids years ago and they still play with it all the time!

The buttons are very cute and they come in lots of different designs. You just have to dig through the bin to find the variety of designs. There are often relatively inexpensive items in the bins around the check-out counters. So OP, you might look around there to see what things are available (pens, keychains, buttons, misc stuff like that).

Another thing (depending on whether you want one specific thing for each person or not) I like to do is buy a selection of Disney candies (the hand-made ones are really good) and then put them out as a gift for the entire office. I've bought the Nuttles and the English Toffee in the past and they're really good.

They have little bags of chocolate coins. I think they're $4-$5 now but you could buy a few bags and enough Mickey head suckers that pp mentioned and make little treat bags. They have stacking tea tins - I wonder if you could break them up? I don't remember price though. Ask for buttons everywhere you go and you might be able to gather enough for each person on your list - those would be cute to decorate the packaging.

Oh yeah, ask for buttons at Cars Land! I think they are still handing them out and they're pretty cool!

I was super broke when I went to Disneyland last summer (thanks school) but still wanted to bring some goodies back for my coworkers. I found food to be the cheapest way to get stuff for everybody. I got a multipack of the flavored popcorn and an assortment of Goofy's Candy Company treats.

to really cheat.. go to the dollar store before you leave and get the magic towels with the Disney Characters on them.. they expand in water and become a face wash cloth.. I do this each year for my son ..

also at D/L they have little round fruit mint candy tins.. they are I believe $2.99
this site has picture of one of the round tins and then the mint choc hard candies.. I think the bigger tin is a little bit more than $3.

Note that not all of the buttons show in the image are available anymore. Also, the OP will have to go back multiple times because I highly doubt they'd give them 16 buttons at one time.

True, but maybe OP can bring a group and ask for a couple of different kinds for each person.

We loved finding these clips that were fridge magnets. They had a good strong magnet and a decent clip so they hold lots of papers. I think they were $3.95. An inexpensive gift that people will actually use, not just toss aside.

There are packages of 4 post it notepads for about $10 that can be divided up. When we were there in May there were also cute little post it sticky tabs in the shape of Mickey's hand, shoe or pants. Also, lots of magnets, keychains and pens. There are bags of candy that you could divide up.

Mickey Krispie's should be under $4 Only caveat is that you don't eat them yourself :rotfl:
Pens can be cheap...I had one coworker that I would snatch Disney hotel pens for...she collected hotel pens. Most Disney pens are at least 4-5 bucks.
Cheapest pins are usually 8 bucks each at least. Keychains are also in the 10 dollar range for a nice one.
At WDW you could get a pack of cards free at the firestation...sorry they don't have those at DL, though :( But maybe some of the Indy scavenger hunt things are free?

Not Disney, but See's Candy is awesome!

I bought a couple of buttons and one of these little tokens that they had in bins at the checkout area at the Emporium that were pretty cheap last time I went.

Depending on how cheap you want to go, check out the bins of "smalls" near the checkout line when you go.

You can get a pack of Disney character pens with the year of them (I do love the fact I keep all my receipts from my Nov/13 trip), for $9.95 for 6 of them with different characters. It was a total of 10.75 for a pack of 6 of them. They are cute, and they do last a long time. They are nice quality pens, and still have some that I use from my trip in 2011.

I like these tins full of yummy mints. (The vanilla mint is my favorite.) After eating all the mints, I use the empty tin to hold gum. They are around $3-4 each and some come in sets. I can't remember if the sets are cheaper. We found them in several locations, including Star Trader. Below are the ones we have purchased in the past.
