Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has a good source for inexpensive glow necklaces. I'd like to buy a few for our nights in the park and thought we could save some money buy purchasing them in advance outside of disney.

I've looked at my local party store and they're asking $2.99 per necklace. I've also looked online but I'm not too keen to buy 50 of them in bulk...

Anyone know an inexpensive source for glow necklaces??

TIA!

Dollar Tree usually has them. At stores here I have even seen glow wands and swords. Necklaces come 2 in a pack and bracelets are 6 in a pack.

Did you try ebay? I lot of the sellers did lots of 25, 50 or 100.... I ordered mine off ebay, and really paid no more than the dollar store. --- Also, I didn't do "necklaces" but the sticks with connectors - that way they can be anything you want.

Also keep in mind that 50 really isn't that many. A certain number will bust in transport (when I say "bust" I mean activate), you have X number of people times X number of nights... plus you can always give away a couple a night... next thing you know, they are gone!

Or, when you get home, you can make your cats wear them.

When I was at Target last week, they had a package of 12 for $1. I think they might have been bracelets, but you can link 2 or 3 together to make a necklace.

on the $ rack at the store entrance.

$1 for a tube of 12. They are more like a bracelet size, I think we will need two together for a necklace (the connectors came in the tube also).

I too was going to suggest Target...in their $1 area. I have probably 10 pks for our upcoming trip to use. - What a great way too for the kids (and an easy way for parents to see them in the dark!).

I found a tube at Michaels at the check out lane for $1. It had enough pieces to make about 6 or 7 necklaces or 12 - 14 bracelets. I am happy to report that they all worked! I know some people said that some of these were duds and wouldn't glow. But ours did!

Here are my "kids" at Fantasmic:

We've bought them at all the above stores, along with Michael's craft store, too! I think they are all about the same package wise and for $1 a pack!! :)

You can get $1 packs at Michaels and Target. I like to check out our Dollar Store, though. They tend to have a big variety...bracelets, necklaces, stick necklaces etc... My kids liked these bracelets the best http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/s...sku=24/1790&requestURI=processProductsCatalog

I got ours at the Dollar Store.

And I agree that 50 isn't as many as you might think. My kids wore them all over their bodies, every night.

If you are looking for the necklaces I have found them cheapest at Hobby Lobby 50 bracelets for $3 after coupon & they have great bright colors. My next favorite are the $1 tubes from Michaels(easy convience to carry to parks!). My Dollar Tree, Target , JoAnn Fabric & Walmart also carry them.

If you are looking for a cool hand held light up thing Walmart carries in the party section a light up spinning thing-Pink for girls ( I believe it says Princess on the inside spinner) & green camoflauge for boys. I think they are $3 or $4 dollars.

Wow! Thanks for all of the replies.

I will definitely check Micheals, Target, Walmart, Joann's and the Dollar Store - I'm bound to hit pay dirt with one of them!

If I got 50 I would definitely be putting some on cats, but I don't have any cats, so maybe my dog and then our neighbors cat so I can see her when she comes into the yard :rotfl:

We are only a party of 4 with only 3 nights in the parks so at most we'd need 12, maybe 15 in case of duds.

Thanks again for all of this great feedback! :flower3:

Just an update on the glow necklaces -

I went to SuperTarget tonight & found them in the $1 area at the front of the store.

If you're looking for them, they come in a black tube with yellow and blue plastic on them. There are 12 glow pieces and 12 connectors per $1 tube.

Thanks again to everyone, at $2.99 per necklace at iParty store:scared1:, I was able to get everyone their own tube of 12 pieces for much much less. You guys saved me a lot of money!:thumbsup2

A little OT...

I bought a package of 100 from eBay for about $13. I gave them to my kids each night at the park. One of my favorite things to use them for was "ID"....I made a chain of 3 or 4 and then attached them to the handles of the strollers. It made it so easy to find our strollers in the dark.

I also used them to light up the inside of our MNSSHP bags and my purse!

We buy the bracelets at Dollar Tree.

We bring extras and my kids hand them out to other kids at the different parks (they ask their parents first if it is o.k. to give their child a glow bracelet). We like to share the glow with others!!:goodvibes

Just a thought for those extra ones in the packet.
