Wondering about places for lunch/dinner for a large family with kids and a baby - I know the Denny's and IHOP are more expensive than their usual restaurants but they are close to our hotel - Desert Inn and Suites. I keep seeing threads about Mimi's and Millie's also.
Where would you recommend for inexpensive meals near the main gates?

Mimi's is good and not to expensive. There are a few good quality fast food places (Carl's Jr, KFC, Jack in the Box, Green Burrito, McD's, Papa Johns, Arby's, Taco Bell, Burger King etc.) at Euclid and Katella. There is also a Hometown Buffet at Euclid and Katella that is pretty good. If you're looking for a great steak dinner for a reasonable price, then you can't beat Chris n' Pitts at Euclid and Crescent. It's one of our favorites!
There's also Marri's Pizza at Euclid and 9th that is also quite good.

If you can't travel that far from your hotel, then I might suggest the Jazz Kitchen take-out window in Downtown Disney or the take-out side of Napoli's Restaurant.

Have a great trip!

If you have a car, Vons (supermarket) is right down the road:
Start out going North on S HARBOR BLVD toward S MANCHESTER AVE. (1.71 miles)
2. Turn RIGHT onto W LINCOLN AVE. (0.32 miles)

I go right when arriving for snacks (we have a "Vons Card") which you can print out application online and bring it with you and they give you card right away. I have saved a lot of money doing it this way. Desert Inn has fridge and microwave which is great for popcorn etc.
If you go to Anaheim Tourist center by McDonalds, you can probably get coupons for buy 1 get 1 free meals.
Coupon for buy 1 get 1 free lunch at House of Blues is here:

2 for 1 Breakfast at knotts is here:

Behind Disneyland, across the street from the Sheraton is the Spaghetti Station which is really good and not expensive.
Mimi's is fine and has a wide variety of foods on the menu.
Millie's was pretty good too. Around the corner down Katella is a Del Taco.

wish we had one here...the closest is a 2.5 hr drive away in Sherman , TX!!!:earseek:

Not sure is "cheap" but Red Robin is close and for us always a hit, we try to arrive before the rush and we can get in & out quickly.

There is one near me but it is not in the most convenient location, but at least I can go there. I am so sick of Taco Bell. The food is so bland there. I wish we had a Taco Time nearby. I would drive a couple hours for a Taco Time!!!

Never heard of it. The only Fast mexican food in our city is a taco bell (ho hum), and a taco bueno ( a little better, but still kind of ho-hum!).

Taco Time is mostly in the pacific Northwest but is expanding....slowly. Their food is MUCH better than Taco Bell. The closest one to me is 4 hours away in Redding.

I haven't noticed in the past that the Denny's is significantly over-priced/inflated ? But then we don't eat there unless we are on vacation.....
