What is a good rate i see some now for spirit and ata but i am not sure if i can expect them to go lower for dec 15-27 ata is 762.00 for 3 people spirit is 500 for us all this is for 3 and round trip is this good or will they go lower

We always fly SouthWest to Florida. IF you book each member separately, with different reservation numbers, you can print out boarding passes the day of your flight for early boarding. (For those of you who have already booked a group flight, just call and ask to re-book with separate numbers. They let us do that this week!) My family of four, DH, DD, DS and myself are flying in June, roundtrip, for only $550! We live in E. Central Illinois and fly out of Indianapolis...only a 1 1/2 trip for us. We are flying into Tampa to begin/end our trip because we have family there, but will be traveling to WDW in the middle. I think flights to Orlando might be a bit more, But I still think SW is less than ATA; at least that has been our experience. Hope this helps a little. Website for S.W. is southwest.com

Good luck!

Happy,
Which airport are you flying out of?
I live in central Il so all major airports are a 3 1/2- 4 hour drive for me. We fly out of peoria or moline.
We got direct flights for 230 per person (which I thought was good for direct flights) for easter week. We are flying airtran. You might want to try them.
If we could fly out of Chicago, it would be much less for us, but I just can't justify the 8 hours of drive time.

Best of luck on finding a cheap rate.

Cathy

We are flying out of Chicago / Midway with ATA in April and we got a group rate of $150.00 per person including all taxes and fees. This by far is our best airfare. I found out last year just by fluke that if you call ATA on Thursdays they sometimes have one day specials. We got buy 1 get 1 free. It came out to be 820.00 for the 6 of us. I will only do the straight thru flights, I'm a BIG chicken when it comes to flying! Good LUCK! By the way, I'm only 10 minutes from Midway, the drive may not be worth the extra savings for your family. If you were to drive 6 hours to Chicago, then you might as well add another 10 to it and drive to Orlando. We have done the drive before, it wasn't too bad. The worse part was the depressing trip back home. No one wanted to leave Disney!

We fly out of st. louis non-stop flights on american and they are ususally $200-$250. most of the time it's about $220ish.

It's 2 hours from here to st. louis and 4 to chicago so we have never flown out of chicago. Indy is about 3 hours and i have seen some cheaper fares out of there sometimes not non-stop but cheap. It is probably too far away for the cheaper fares but with flying over X-mas you also don't want to wait too long.

We just booked Spirt from O'Hare to MCO the first week on October for the 5 of us for $146.70 each. Spirit's rates change very quickly, so jump on them if you see cheaper rates. I booked a flight to Vegas last month for March 11th-14th, and got $181.00 a ticket. The next week, they were double that price. I say jump, don't wait for them to go down, because they usually only go up.

Good Luck

We live in centrel il. We flew southwest out of Indianapolis for 128 a person last fall. There were 8 of us so it saved us some money to fly out of Ind. vs. midway/chicago with southwest.

If you're north of the city, Midwest from Milwaukee has some good deals too. The last three trips I've booked have been on ME for $208/person. Plus, you can't beat the $8 to park onsite at MKE.

I agree with everyone's advise to "jump" on the low rates. We fly to MCO at least twice a year, and in my experience the rates very rarely go down.

PolyGuy - I think you're only the 2nd person I've seen post from Gurnee!

I'd suggest looking into Rockford also. . . the airlines is TransMeridian Airlines ------ iflytma.com we live in Wisconsin and will gladly make the trip. Last time we flew for $78 each way!

I'd jump on the Spirit Tickets.... Prices only go up around the Holidays...

I just booked my tickets yesterday for XMAS.

we are flying christmas too, ata was $459 per person and we have two free compainon tickets coming but we booked spirit tooo
dec.23-jan.3 $188 with tax and fees.

now trying to get good airfare for db from las vegas same time:crazy: does anyone now what good airfare from las to mco

We've flown ATA out of Midway before for $125. However, your return flight could be what is bringing up your fare a bit. It is right in the middle of the holiday season.

We live in Peoria and find that we can make it to a hotel near Midway in a little over 2 hours. We usually stay at one of the hotels that offer the Park & Fly option. It is a great way to kick off your vacation. (kids swimming, Chicago Pizza, and free transportation to the airport).
