Hi My daugther's school does allow us to bring in food for the kid's birthdays so everyone usually does little goodie bags. I don't want to spend a fortune but I don't want to put junk in either. So I was going to put in a bookmark and maybe a coupon for a free Frosty or the McDonalds Halloween ones (if they have them this year) I found bookmarks on Oriental Trading but it was costing me more to ship them then it was for the actual bookmarks! Does anyone know anywhere else that would have them? They are for 3rd graders.

Thanks!

I made some with my grandson for his 5th birthday and they came out really cute. the kids olved them and the teacher made them this year for her new class.
Buy foam shapes and thin ribbon. I used the 1/4 inch satin that they sell at Joanne's for $1 a roll.
cut the ribbon about 12" long. Glue two of the same shapes on each end of the ribbon and let dry. I used glue sticks but it takes longer for that to dry than foam glue.
We then put a smaller shape on the large shape to decorate but you can use a thin tip permanent marker to write the kids names or draw something if you are artistic.

Our PTA has a school store and we oder alot of our items from raymondgeddes.com. they have a lot of really cute ideas like erasers, pencils, pencil sharpeners, book marks etc.

I would make them. Do something specific to that class like:
Mrs. Smith's 1st Grade ROCKS READING! Or something. Could even do something like put the individual kids name on the back. REALLY EASY and CHEAP if you have your own laminator. If you don't - It's pretty cheap to have things laminated at like Staples. Just make 6'' by 1 and 1/2'' strips of paper and print out the pattern or other - that would make 9 per page (make sure to put some 'space' in between to cut them apart and not cut into one or the other). Print them out on colored paper for more FUN OR you could just put a cute border around each section (easy to make in Excel to keep all your 'cells' the same size).

I would guess you could make them all for $5 - $10, depending on number of kids in the room.

And I personally think that the laminated ones work way better than the foam ones - those always fall out of the books cuz they're too thick!

One note - be sure to round the corners after cutting them apart because laminated corners are SHARP! Just take scissors and make a quick rounding on each corner.

You should definitely check out the Creative DISign forum. I know there are DISigners who have bookmarks on their photobucket/4shared sites. You could print it on cardstock and/or laminate it.

I have just started doing a bit of designing for myself (trying to learn the software I purchased) and would be happy to create something for you if you have a specific idea. It would be good training for me.

Check amazon! I bought some last Christmas for goodie bags. They had some dr Seuss ones that were cute. They were super cheap, like $8.00 for 50 of them.
