So June 1st hours are out and it states that Indy is down; anyone know for how long?

Yah I wanna know too. This is disappointing me. I am glad that I can enjoy it the first 3 days of my trip, but my brother is coming a few days after myself and is looking forward to this ride in particular. :guilty: I really hope this ride is only down for a very short period so he can at least ride it even once on his vacation.

It's odd to have a major ride down in the summer for rountine maintenance. I don't see it as listed for rehabs on Disney's Travel agent site, or any other site but disney.com. And it's not listed as closed under their rehabs section. Maybe it is a mistake. If not, that looks like the first day, so who knows how long. We should know within the next few days when more sites address this.

MousePlanet is usually pretty good about giving us a heads up on refurbs before they are announced by Disney. And they said nothing about this in the past or in this week update here http://www.mouseplanet.com/9226/Disneyland_Resort_Update#Rehabs

I suspect it will be very brief for a couple days after Memorial Day weekend and before the summer crowds arrive.

Agreed. Its probably just some extra track and lighting testing or something to make sure its up to par for the mad rush.

June 2 made the calendar this morning and Indy Refurb is listed on that day too.

I saw it too! We are there June 1-4 and I had been keeping track of the refurbs for our dates and didn't see this anywhere until I noticed it on the calendar. My DS is finally tall enough for this ride and has been looking forward to it for months. We have been using it as motivation to eat well so he can grow (he's very small for his age) and we have no plans to return to DL for a while. I hope at least it will be open the last day or two.

I really hope its not down for very long, my first day in the park is on the 2nd and my last day is the sixth...so heres hoping its just a small refurb and its open before I leave. Its my favorite ride at the park and I don't want to miss it... =)

This would be tragic for me :sad2: My kids now just meet the height requirement for this; we were really looking forward to it.

Any off-season visit carries the risk of refurbs. It seems like most years May and early June are least susceptible to this as Disney usually has most of the major refurbs completed by then in preparation for summer. But it is still off-season. Disappointing? Yes. Surprising? Not really. pixiedust:

Hoping it's back up for all of your trips. But as HydroGuy says early June isn't season yet. Not until later in the month. Sorry:confused3

The interesting thing about DLR (as opposed to WDW) is that refurbs tend to be more year round, rather than only at off peak times. I've heard this is because the DLR crowd is more local. For example, last summer (which is peak season) one attraction at a time at Fantasyland went under refurb through the end of August. I'm guessing there would be mass revolt if that happened at WDW. At least it was posted well in advance as opposed to this refurb which hasn't been listed on any upcoming schedule that I saw. 6 weeks out makes it harder for the out of towners to plan. When we picked this week I fully expected reduced hours and nighttime entertainment and that was fine. Also when we picked this week WOC was opening in March, but we knew that the projected date could change and set our expectations accordingly. Its just funny that we'll have nightly fireworks and F! (except for the grad nite-which we also planned for), but no IJA. I really hope its running on the last day we are there. Its no big deal for DH and me, we totally understand these things happen. It will be a bit more disappointing for a short 8 year old who has been waiting 2 years to go on this ride. So for me personally I'm not outraged, I'm just not looking forward to explaining all this to my son.

If it were me, I would tell your son now that there may be a possibility that it might not be working, so that he doesn't continue to get his hopes up and only be tragically disappointed when you get there. If you let him know now, then the disappointment might run its course before you get there, and you can start talking up other fun things that you can do instead to get him excited about the trip. And that way, if this refurb is listed incorrectly, or is just a short thing lasting a couple of days, it will be even more magical :wizard: that he will get to experience the ride while you are there. But that's JMHO.

Hopefully he will understand! :goodvibes

It seems to me that DLR concentrates their refurbs in Jan-May (while trying to avoid mid-March to mid-April Spring Break) and Sept/Oct. If the refurb is long (4-5 months) like Rivers of America they do it Jan-May.

I plan on telling him soon, I'm just waiting for all the days that we will be there to be posted so I know for sure.

Oh, I agree that the majority of refurbs are concetrated during that time, but they can also occur during peak season (I gave the ones last summer as an example). For me, there is definitely plenty to do to keep me entertained without having everything up and running. Our kids are great sports and are so much fun when we travel, very open to everything. I know they will have a good time (of course, its Disneyland). This whole planning thing is so much different than living 5 miles away and going whenever like I used to. :)
