So June 1st hours are out and it states that Indy is down; anyone know for how long?
MousePlanet is usually pretty good about giving us a heads up on refurbs before they are announced by Disney. And they said nothing about this in the past or in this week update here http://www.mouseplanet.com/9226/Disneyland_Resort_Update#Rehabs
I suspect it will be very brief for a couple days after Memorial Day weekend and before the summer crowds arrive.

June 2 made the calendar this morning and Indy Refurb is listed on that day too.
Any off-season visit carries the risk of refurbs. It seems like most years May and early June are least susceptible to this as Disney usually has most of the major refurbs completed by then in preparation for summer. But it is still off-season. Disappointing? Yes. Surprising? Not really.

It will be a bit more disappointing for a short 8 year old who has been waiting 2 years to go on this ride. So for me personally I'm not outraged, I'm just not looking forward to explaining all this to my son.
It seems to me that DLR concentrates their refurbs in Jan-May (while trying to avoid mid-March to mid-April Spring Break) and Sept/Oct. If the refurb is long (4-5 months) like Rivers of America they do it Jan-May.The interesting thing about DLR (as opposed to WDW) is that refurbs tend to be more year round, rather than only at off peak times. I've heard this is because the DLR crowd is more local. For example, last summer (which is peak season) one attraction at a time at Fantasyland went under refurb through the end of August. I'm guessing there would be mass revolt if that happened at WDW. At least it was posted well in advance as opposed to this refurb which hasn't been listed on any upcoming schedule that I saw. 6 weeks out makes it harder for the out of towners to plan. When we picked this week I fully expected reduced hours and nighttime entertainment and that was fine. Also when we picked this week WOC was opening in March, but we knew that the projected date could change and set our expectations accordingly. Its just funny that we'll have nightly fireworks and F! (except for the grad nite-which we also planned for), but no IJA. I really hope its running on the last day we are there. Its no big deal for DH and me, we totally understand these things happen. If it were me, I would tell your son now that there may be a possibility that it might not be working, so that he doesn't continue to get his hopes up and only be tragically disappointed when you get there. If you let him know now, then the disappointment might run its course before you get there, and you can start talking up other fun things that you can do instead to get him excited about the trip. And that way, if this refurb is listed incorrectly, or is just a short thing lasting a couple of days, it will be even more magicalthat he will get to experience the ride while you are there. But that's JMHO.
Hopefully he will understand!![]()
