I was guessing " In Dire Need Of" but, like you, I'm not sure either...:confused3

IASWAM, you're good. I didn't notice the D and N switch from subject line to message!

Free tickets? Ooh, doubt it.

Staying over a weekend just as summer break starts might be tough to do cheaply, but try anyway. I hear the Motel 6 nearby isn't bad at all! I would normally mention HoJo, but I don't think their Entertainment Book discount is offered in June so I'd focus on Motel 6.

Inexpensive ways to eat there are often discussed; so you know what to look for in past threads, we've discussed the grocery stores nearby that deliver so you can have breakfasts, bring sandwiches, bring water to the parks...refill water bottles at the parks, get free ice water from restaurants, share meals, get kid's meals...eat off site at places like Mimi's and Coco's...

The Ent Rate is available at the HoJo in June but not July. :) You could give that a try or just stay at the Motel 6 or Super 8's that are nearby, they are supposed to be nice. :) Free tickets, doubtful, unless you win a contest. Fill your water bottle as suggested by Bumbershoot, we do that as well. Share meals, or bring your own, eat in your room having a delivery from a grocery store. But most of all, have fun!

I dont know much, but I will share what I know. Also, what does IDNO mean??

Ok, so at RRPP, you get free refills on your drinks, so get a soda or something there, and ave your cup, and fill it up as need be.

1-2 free hours of FREE Disneyland, called a "shopping pass". I know you can get this at the information booth outside of the park, just as you cross onto the resort, you do however have to leave a credit card number, that is for if you do not return they will charge you for your days admission.

There is a shop on Main Street, cant remember which one, although I think it is Blue Ribbon Bakery, that gives free coffee refills. Dont quote me on the site though.

My son has been able to go up to the little food concession stands (popcorn, churros, ice creams, cotton candy, etc, and get whatever for 0.25, yes, a quarter. Just give the child a quarter, and send him/her to the CM and have them politely ask if they have anything to sell for a quarter. The worst they could say is no, right?!?!

And the big one, that I have never tried, but do intend to one day:

Here is a way you can get in for FREE!!!!! Besides catching
a guest on his/ her way out and asking them if you can have their ticket for
FREE, you can get one from a cast member! That’s right, each full time cast
member is allowed to give away a few passes a day! But if you are lucky, you can catch an employee outside of the gates (trash collectors, etc) and ask them if they would be willing to give you their pass for the day. I think it is only fair to offer them money, but that is up to you. Please keep in mind
that tickets are NOT supposed to be given away once CM are on the
clock, if you happen to catch someone willing to do it make it quick and
have your cash on hand. If you already have at least one valid ticket, You
can also go into the park and try to find someone who will give you their
free passes while your family waits outside of the gates.

Check out Getawaytoday.com I have heard many people say they have good deals on booking rooms w/tickets. Also, definitely do as others have mentioned when it comes to snacks and water. Bring your own snacks and water bottles into the park. I can't tell you how much went have spent on water bottles alone! :sad2:

Tight budget is one of the reasons we are not going this year and hoping for 2009.

Well, food is a huge expense! Bring most of your own and your own water bottles to refill. Like muffins, granola, etc for breakfast in the room. Crackers, stuff to make sammys (refridge in room??), fruit for lunch. Maybe you could eat at Millies or one of the diners on Harbor for dinner. They're right outside the park.

Don't buy souvies...that'll cost ya big time as well.

Tickets? Discounted? Is there such a thing? LOL. I have often bought my tickets on eBay and Craigslist with no problems. Some are fearful of this, though. I've never used any of the vacation package places.

Hotels? Try hotels.com. And always call the hotel directly. I used to work at Marriott, and we could sometimes offer better deals with in house reservations. Always ask, "Is that the best rate available?"

Wish I could help more, but Disney is expensive. have fun!

I just checked Hojo's site and they have the $59 rooms on June 13th & 14th (Fri +Sat).

Wow! Not to start a war but I find some of your suggestions inappropriate. To respond:

Refills at RRPP are good. When you are eating there. It is not a "free pass" to come back all day long and get free drinks.

I think the suggestion of using the shopping pass to go on rides or whatever is wrong. This is a service that Disney offers for someone to come in and buy merchandise. And besides, two hours is not enough to enjoy the parks and I doubt Disney is going to let someone do this every day.

It is not Blue Ribbon Bakery that gives free refills--it's the market across from it. But a good tip nonetheless.

The next inappropriate comment is the one about having a child go up to a CM with a quarter and try to get something that costs 10+ times as much for the quarter. I am really hoping you were being sarcastic because that is just wrong on so many levels.

The other inappropriate comment is the one about "free" tickets--first, tickets are not supposed to be transferable so if another guest were to give you their ticket you probably would not be able to use it that day without a hand stamp--plus, if it was a multi-day ticket and the entry CM had any suspicions they would probably quiz you about when you used it and where and you would get busted that way.

As for the idea of approaching a cast member about giving you a ticket and then paying them cash--I would have thought that you--being a Disney Store employee apparently (especially a lead)--would have known that it is against Disney's rules for a CM to accept any consideration for the "free" tickets they get. A CM could get fired for doing what you are suggesting--not saying that it doesn't happen, but I don't think it is something that should be encouraged. And your last suggestion--about "If you already have at least one valid ticket, You can also go into the park and try to find someone who will give you their free passes while your family waits outside of the gates."--well, that's just fraud.

Like I said--I don't want to fight with you but I also don't like people playing fast and loose with rules. In the end, it hurts the honest people in this world. I would hope the OP would not be looking to be dishonest.

I am glad I am not the only one who thought that advice was inappropriate (and dishonest).

::yes:: Right there with you. I couldn't imagine giving my child a quarter and telling them to try to scam a CM into giving them something. . . not a very good life lesson for sure. :sad2:

To the OP, I hope you can get the HoJo rate. If you honestly can't afford tickets, as in legitimate parkhoppers, then I would suggest saving up and going at another time when you can truly afford it.

Im extremely sry.. WOW... I will not be dishonest about ANYTHING.. i will check into the HoJO.. We can Afford DL, but we are a family of 5 and with gas 4$ a gasllon here.. and we have to drive 11 hours to DL.. we are looking ofr any Dicount/deals we can get..... Im soo sry if i offended anyone..
