INDO good DL dicounts, deals, or freebies..

I guess it really doesnt matter one bit what I say on here, since I am so dishonest, everything that I am saying is a lie.

Never once did I say I would sell to every child for $1. And as one of my prior posts stated (regarding the food as DL anyways) they dont pay for it, as long as they continue to advertise "Always Coca-Cola" or "Orville Reddenbackers" (or however you spell it :) ). Prices are going to raise regardless, look at gas prices. Home prices from 2 years ago. How would you steal a home? The cost of living rises, as does everything else. And with the economy now, you just never know. I am actually losing my job as well, my store was one of the ones that was chosen for store closure after The Walt Disney Company regained ownership.

I was not asking anybody on here to like my suggestions, I was not asking anybody on here to try out my suggestions, I did not ask anybody to teach their child to do anything, I did not make up these suggestions, that was simply all they were: Suggestions. If you dont like them, ignore them. They were intended for the OP. She asked for DEALS, DISCOUNTS, and FREEBIES, so I provided what I have been informed of. The OP can decide on her own if she wants to use them or not without the help of everyone on here telling her how dishonest and inappropriate they/I am. Since I was that "one particulat person" who suggested these all because she asked. Its not like I went on a thread and started bashing people for no apparent reason, or accused people of things without knowing the person, or assumed somebody was a bad parent becuase they were able to popcorn for 0.25 twice in their life.

For the shopping pass go to Guest Services over by CA, let them know what you need, they give you a pass but you have to give them a CC number, if you are not back in 2 hours they will charge for a full days admission.

Thanks so much!:goodvibes I may also put off trying to buy an Indy something for my Archaeology professor until Sunday too then, instead of trying to cram it into my already tight schedule since the Adventureland shops close at midnight too.

Actually I seriously doubt Disney gets 100% free product from these companies. In some of the dealings I have with events, companies do give some freebies or heavy discounts (logo cups with drink brand on the front etc.) but since Disney uses Disney logo carries they pay for those.

If you ever wondered about the price of a soda

The actual soda costs approx 1 cent
Ice can be as much a 5-10 cents depending on if its made on sight if it has to be moved by an employee at any step of course it goes to the higher end as that is included in price.
Cups 10-25 cents cups are what you are typically paying for, they can go up in price on how many or few you order, Disney obviously is on the low end.

Ok I also wanted to mention that just because they are at a kiosk doesn't mean that certain measures aren't taken to have cash control. I can bet money that their cash drawers are checked back on their containers. So if they started with 50 sodas and 50 popcorn tubs and they come back with 5 sodas and 10 popcorn tubs, they better have the cash to back that up. If they give your kid a $2.50 popcorn for a quater, it will get them in trouble because now they have to explain where the $2.25 is.

BTW this is why most places won't give you a full sized soda cup free for water, counts and cash are done by those cups.

Yes, the cost of everything rises... obviously. However, it retail... stealing raises prices. Your "suggestion" was to steal. I was simply pointing out the implications of stealing.

The CM's who work at those kiosks still have to account for what they have sold, they still have to account for the fact that they are missing 1 or 2 or 3 popcorn boxes when they are missing the money in the register for them. No, they don't ring up sales the same way as a normal cash register does but they still have money and responsibilities. Honestly, if I was a CM at DL and someone sent their kid over (no matter how cute) with a quarter for popcorn I would tell them I couldn't help them. That's a horrible tip, it's dishonest, it's teaching your kids that taking from others is OK and IMO it's stealing. I'm sorry to be harsh but that's MY opinion, some of your suggestions were wrong no matter how you got them. Not all of them, but the one about the tickets from CM's (they can get fired for taking money for them and the last I heard they only had a few a month, not a few a day) and the one about the 0.25 popcorn are the ones I'm referring to.

And you would not sell a child a pair of shoes for $1, why? Because your store would then lose money, I worked in retail for 6 years, I know how it works. Technically I still work in retail, it's just a different faction of retail. Anyway, when people call me I don't sell them things for less because they are cute (and trust me, some of the people I work with are much more than cute LOL) I would chance losing my job and that's just not worth it to me.

I'm even more sorry that you paid $1.50 for those tips, I'm sure there are some really good ones in there but you could have come here (and other chat boards) and got them for free. No one is hating on you, we are just disagreeing with your post and hoping maybe you'll rethink some of those tips you're giving out.

I work as an usher and so I run the concessions stand sometimes. We really do keep track of the coffee and tea that we sell simply by the number of cups that we put out. As for the liquid itself, overall yes it does cost more money every time that we have to brew a new pot, but individually, it doesn't cost us much because we have to get rid of whatever isn't drunk by the end of the day. I imagine that it's different with soda because soda can keep longer, ergo, aside from getting refills while eating your food (because you don't want people buying bigger sodas from other areas within the compound or bringing them in from the outside instead of buying from you and therefore allow for a free refill if they need it in order to help them consume their food), I don't see why they would give free refills or discounted popcorn. If a CM would constantly come up short on the number of cups or boxes or would run out of what should have filled the number of boxes or cups before the last cup or box was filled, then they would probably get into a lot of trouble. Unless it is explicitly offered to you and the refills or whatever have been sanctioned from "on high" (ex. we are trying to use up our small cups before buying a new set of big cups at my work, so anyone who wants a free refill is allowed one because that's as much coffee as we would have given them if we had big cups), it's theft imo.

I just wanted to respond to the "CM's can hand out free tickets everyday" comment. My DD has been a CM for two years and has never been given free tickets to give out on a daily basis. She is allowed 17 sign-ins of up to 3 people every year and all the busy times are blocked out. On her one anniversary she was given two free paper tickets to do whatever she pleased with and a pin for her name tag which signifies a year of service. And if she ever were caught "selling" her free admissions, she would be fired.

You got some bum information Brandy, sorry.

OP, I hope you have a fabulous trip.

You are right there, they are not supposed to be selling their tickets, and neither I am , we would get fired, that is why I do not sell my tickets, I use them for me and my immediate family. Some of the info on the email I got was bum, you are right again, but that doesnt mean if someone is "In Desperate Need Of deals, discounts, and freebies", that I cant share what was shared with me. I see nothing wrong with that, regardless if I paid for it or not. My stepsons mom also worked at a DL CM, she was given 5 free tickets a month to use for her guests (not her family). Dont know about the sign-up thing though, she never mentioned that about it.

Everybody is really upset about this information, I am not asking or telling anybody to do it, nor did I say that I have tried all of these myself. Once again, I was giving her (OP) what she asked for, she asked for free tickets, I told her the only way I knew of getting them (besides winning). If she chooses to pursue that way, that is up to her and nobody else. If my suggestions arent liked, then ignore them. Its that simple.

I had a suspicion at my store that employee's were selling things at a mark down just to make sales , now on every inventory card the seeli8ng price is on them . If the item was sold for less , with out a manager permission , your fired! Any dishonest practice makes everyone suffer, if the company loses money they can't pay the help. Prices need to be raised and that hurts the consumer. And you can't judge anyone on how they look, the dirty guy who looks like he was in the desert all day can be a multi millionaire, the best dressed lady up to her eyeballs in debt.
Honest business is the best for all.

I do agree with what you are saying completely. You can never judge a book by its cover. Somebody can come in to any store, or anything for that matter, and be all dirty and smelly, etc., but what does that mean, NOTHING!! Maybe he/she just got off from a hard days work, maybe they work with animals at an animal pasture for example, but just becuase they are dirty means nothing about their financial status. Same goes with other way around.

The only time (that I am aware of anyway) that we may sell thing for less that it is supposed to be is if it is the last one and we have no sku for it and no store that we have contacted has a sku for it, we just sell it for a reasonable price that the guest agrees to.

i was looking on Ebay fro tickets.. there seems to be a lot of odd dealing.. has anyone every bought any tickets off there before?

I know some people have had success buying partially used tickets off ebay. Personally, I just wouldn't risk it on something as important as a family vacation.

also.. are you allowed to bring coolers/ your own water bottles??

You are allowed to bring small soft sided coolers into the parks. I like to freeze my water bottles ahead of time so they stay cool all day long.

here is one auction that ha sme confused?? http://cgi.ebay.com/2-1-Day-Adult-D...ryZ16071QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem seller has great feedback, but it jsut seems like its fishy.... also once you are in the park.. can you leave?? do they give you a shand stamp or something??

The person bought a multi-day park hopper and is trying to make money off of selling off one day at a time. People like that make me sad, because imo it's morally wrong, since you're taking profit away from Disney while trying to profit off of someone else who doesn't want to break the rules (which it is breaking the rules since they're supposed to be nontransferable).

You can get your hand stamped and leave the park at any time and then just show your hand stamp and have your ticket rescanned (to make sure that you were in the park that day) when you re-enter the park.

I would hate to find out that ticket is no good and there is no way to find out in advance.
