Sorry if this has been asked many times, I have searched and am getting different answers! We have a friend joining us on holiday, he has booked a package through Disney and the flights are indirect manchester to Orlando with AA, I think the stop is at JFK, he is travelling alone and has no idea what happens with luggage etc, some posts are saying you don't need to collect your luggage for the 2nd flight and others say you do, has anybody some advice I can pass on for him please, would really appreciate any help!

TIA, Debs xx

As far as Im aware he will need to pick up luggage at first port of call on entering USA. On the return journey once he checks in the luggage will go all the way to MAN.

You must be your belongings with you to enter the US (customs). So, go through immigration, then get bags, then customs, then drop the bags off again.

On the return flight, say goodbye to your bags at MCO and hope to see them again in the UK - then the same process: immigration, get bags, go through customs, go home.

Thank you, just hope he has enough time to get through all that before his next flight lol! ;)

Don't know for def but looking at the flights disney are offering and with the time he leaves and arrives I think he has an hour and 25 mins but I will check! :scratchin

We just did JFK and we got priority passes to get through security quickly as we had less than 2 hours. It sounds a pain to pick up bags and drop them off again but it was literally round the corner for us. We did it in under an hour. Saying that, folks on the same flights as us lost some of their baggage between Aberdeen and JFK:confused3

Did you fly into terminal 8? It's years since I fly to JFK and can't remember much about it. We're flying with BA next year and our connection is at JFK.

Did you have to pay extra for the priority passes and how do you get them? Just a bit worried for him now! :confused3

We got them for free, I never asked for them. There was an assistant waiting on the bridge as we departed the plane checking who was on the MCO flight and handing them out.

That's really handy to know thank you, I will get him to ask the question as he departs just to be on the safe side! :thumbsup2 Gutted for those whose luggage went missing, must have been a right pain for them!
