Should they change/update the Indiana Jones Stunt show or leave it as is?:mickeybar

I answered yes, but I really think it needs to be removed once the new auto stunt show is opened. Why have two stunt shows? I think think they should build the Indy ride from DL in it's place.

But if the show were to stay, then it most definitely needs to be updated. It's been the same for 15 years! For a ride, that's fine. For a show, that's boring.

They definitely need to make some changes to it. Technology has improved quite a bit since it first opened, so adding some new special effects, should they decide to keep it open, would be great.

I agree totally. Ever since I rode the Indy ride at DL I thought they should replace the Stunt Show with the Indy ride. :mickeybar

I agree that some changes would be a good idea. How about a new pre-show? The extras from the crowd are a great idea, but planting a "fake" crowd member is pretty old. As creative as the Disney imagineers are, they should be able to come up with a new surprise for the crowd. That would be a good start. :D

travelbug I agree. We just skip this show. I am sure as long as it draws in big crowds they will not change a thing.:mickeybar

I agree that the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectaular should be changed, or at the very least updated.

I LOVE the Indiana Jones ride at DL. I also agree that it would be great to see come to WDW.

If they at least update the stunt show that would help.

It has been years since the last Indiana Jones movie was released. I am sure there are other newer movies they could make a stunt show after. I think this is one example of Disney not keeping up and focusing only on "new" rides.

But if you want to keep and attract guest you must keep ahead with some of the other parks.

I personally "love" WDW so I will always come back and see the Indiana Stunt Show but I want others, coming for the 1st time, to love it just as much. I just think some will think,.... "what is an Indiana Jones show doing here?"

Happy Planning!!!!

Not many details available, except that it will show Indiana Jones in his later years (maybe titled: "Indiana Jones and the Lost Dentures" ??) Let's hope the stunt show at the Studios will be updated after the new movie is released. It will be great to see Karen Allen back on screen again. She was the best Indy girl. If we must have Kate Capshaw, let's just hope they actually give her some lines to say, so she doesn't scream through the entire two hours :scared1: . Remind me to take my EarPlanes to the show.

just another point of view, but my family saw it for the first time last year and were "wowed" by the show. My kids are looking forward to seeing it again on our next trip, but I can see how it can get a bit old after multiple trips.

O.k., they can change it, but AFTER we visit in October!!! When we were at WDW Indiana Jones was CLOSED. My DS now 12 wants to see this pretty bad. So they can change it but AFTER our October visit!!

:p

We are really looking forward to that Stunt Show for our firs trip. I remember seeing footage of it as a kid and thinking it was soo cool! Wouldn't it be overkill to move the IJ ride to WDW since its on the same track as the Dinosaur ride?

I do not think it would be overkill to have IJ at WDW. It has a different theme than Dinosaur at AK. It is a totally different attraction. It would be like saying that Disney should not have Pirates of the Carribean and Small World since they both are water rides? I love both of those rides and am very happy they have both. :mickeybar

I agree, it wouldn't be redundant at all. If they can have Aladdin and Dumbo in the same park (tell me those aren't the same ride) they could have Dinosaur at AK and IJ at MGM. By the way, I believe I read somewhere that Winnie the Pooh actually uses the same technology as Dinosaur and IJ for it's ride cars.

We have thoroughly enjoyed the show for the past 10 years but I agree that the Indiana Jones movies...although wonderful...are outdated. I like the Pirates of the Caribbean idea. What a great movie. Anyway, I think MGM in general needs some updating. The Great Movie Ride especially - those movies are definitely outdated. I would keep the classics, but Alien and Indiana Jones...getting old in my book.

Star Tours - needs to go.

I'm even thinking Millionnaire is kind of old school.

I would like to see some old faves come back - like Superstar Theatre - with new shows perhaps or an American Idol type of show were guests can compete. And, the Drew Carey thing is a joke. I loved the Monster Sound Show idea. Just do it with a more updated movie. That's when MGM was MGM!!!!!!!!!!!!! When we visit we go to MGM - but only briefly. If it weren't for Fantasmic, RnR, TOT, Muppets (it's a classic!!), I doubt we would ever go back. The backstage tour IS HORRIBLE now.

Totally agree Pam!! MGM needs some major updating. I wonder if Disney is aware of this, or if ticket sales have been reflecting the need for change? MGM is probably my least favorite part just because there's nothing to do there!! You get into the park, and get a fast pass for RnR, go see Muppets, go back to RnR... and that's it!! ToT always has a 90 minute wait, so you either wait for that or you leave.

I have not been on the Backstage Tour recently--what is different about it now than it used to be? No more stuff to see in the "studios" backlot? Is catastrophe canyon still there? The Great Movie Ride needs a couple of additions (and maybe even altering the live show somewhat... it was kind of lame the last time I went... might have been due to a less-than-stellar CM though). And Indie, if nothing else, needs a new pre-show!! Everybody already knows about the fake audience member! MGM needs more quality and quantity.

My DH makes me go see it every time we are there. Nothing ever changes... not even the guy in the Hawaiian shirt that is "chosen" from the audience to be a cast member! I would really like to see some changes to it, but as everyone else, we keep going back!!

It would be like saying that Disney should not have Pirates of the Carribean and Small World since they both are water rides?

Well I don't think I'd go quite that far. From my understanding the IJ ride and Dinosaur are not just similiar technology they are exactly the same ride, with turns and dips in all the same places. Only the scenery/theme is different. The Aladdin/Dumbo description fits much better. :D

BTW I wasn't particularly saying it would be overkill. I was asking what people more familiar to WDW thought. Personally IJ is one of my favorite disney rides ever, so while I'm excited to try Dinosaur, I'll be missing IJ, and would have no problem doing both. I know if it was Disneyland though and they brought Dinosaur out here everyone would be up in arms because they would rather have a completely new ride then a retooling of one we already had. WDW probably gets away with that more being so much bigger.
