We are looking at renting a villa in Indian Ridge for next summer - can anyone enlighten me on any of the following
How long will take to get to disney (the villa owner says 5mins! is this true)
How far away is the nearest large supermarket?
Has anyone stayed at indian ridge and been pleased/not pleased?

any comments would be appreciated - positive or negative - Thank You

Stayed in Rolling Hills (only 2 mins from Indian Ridge I believe) which was only 5 mins from the Animal Kingdom on a clear run (use Sherberth Road). The other WDW parks are 5 mins or so further.

There is a Publix supermarket west on the 192 (about 5 mins also) and plenty of restaurants around Formosa Gardens.

We think the location is great and have booked to stay at Indian Creek (opposite Rolling Hills) next year.

Good luck to your DS in the Nationals. My DH swam for Kent a few!!! years back.

Thanks for the info Floridaaddict. I think that we will probably go ahead and book.

DS is getting very excited about the nationals - although I am worried about the time he swims last on the Tuesday and is likely to get into a final as he is ranked 7th in the country in his age group - they start the finals at 5 pm and when its over we have to drive from Sheffield to Essex that night as we go to the airport on the Wed. night for twilight checkin - I will certainly have to be organised!!!!

Hi, We stayed Indian Ridge last time, Unfortunately the villa was already booked for the dates we wanted this Oct We were not far from the 192 and Disney was close.

Indian Ridge is an excellent location, a lot of restaurants and supermarkets in 10 minutes drive.
While you can be on Disney property in close to 5 minutes, that isn't the same as geting to the themeparks in that time however. IMHO reasonable drive times ( to the parking lots in regular conditions) are AK 5-10 minutes, MGM 10-15 minutes, Epcot 15-20 minutes MK 15-20 minutes. BB 10 minutes TL 15-20 minutes.
Only VERY slight concern over IR is that it is a relatively old subdivision. The oldest houses there could be 12-15 years old, the newest are about 6-7 years old. If the house has been well maintained that should not be an issue. You may want to ask the exact age of the house and if/when any refits, redecorating etc have been undertaken.

I know your question has been anwsered quite a few times but ive stayed at Indian Ridge before so i might as well give some anwsers as well.

How long will take to get to disney (the villa owner says 5mins! is this true)

It is literally 5 minutes drive from Disney but the problem we found was the traffic on the highway 192, the minute you come out the junction your straight into a traffic jam and it seems to take forever to get through it, i expect this depends more on the time of day though as most of the time it was early morning rush hour.

How far away is the nearest large supermarket?

Publix is about a 5 minute drive, you get to the junction and theres one about 5 minutes either way,

We stayed there back in 96 and was very pleased, the villas were very nice inside and the location was brilliant.
