Independence Day Challenge-Last Call for Updates!

ok -- i did WI sunday, but not until after breakfast so it was probably a pound higher, but I weighed in at 142 -- so my goal is to lose 7 lbs and stay on my walking/jogging program I started.

disneygood -- will you be starting a new thread each week?
 
Did my weigh-in yesterday...down to 143! (Surprised the heck out of me!) That makes losing 10 pounds look daunting now!

Didn't see another thread for the weigh in info, and wanted to get it out here before I forgot it! :)
 
If it's not too late to start, please put me down for 8 pounds for this challenge. I need to have something to help motivate me. Since that is an average of 1#/week hopefully that is something that I can accomplish. I just signed up with Curves this morning and I am back on my counting of points.

We can do this with the inspiration of each other.
 
Are we posting our initial weigh-ins here? If not, I'll post to another thread as well. Well, I was up a smidge when I weighed in yesterday with the scale showing 212. Since I want to make it to Onderland, I guess I need to adjust my goal to 0/13. Good luck everyone!!
 

If it is at all possible, I would like to join this challenge as well (sorry I missed the thread all this time!). I would like to lose 12 pounds for this challenge. My sister got engaged this week and asked me to be the maid of honor, so I have got to get serious!! If I lose the 12 pounds, I will no longer be "overweight"!

Hi all,

Just checked in (feeling much better to those who asked, thanks) and thought I'd clear up some early day confusions...

First, some have been weighing in and posting their weights. While people should feel free to do that if it helps them along their journey, I think it would be too complicated for me to keep track in that much detail. I'd love to do it, but know my limitations (4 yo, 8 mo). I think this probably is because I suggested a guideline of first weigh in and last weigh in in the first thread. I would like to mirror Kimraye's Mother's Day Challenge in asking people to check in with progress in the x/y format with x being how much they've lost total so far in the challenge and y being their goal. That way I'm not putting numbers on people that they may be unhappy with.

Second, I won't start a new thread each week, and I'll keep the subject the same. I've got a message at the beginning, the second message of the challenge, that lists the challengers, and most recent updates. I'll make updates there by editing that message, and will reply at the end to bump the message and alert people checking in that there are updates.

Finally, I'm set up for PM's so if anyone has any questions or concerns they want to send to me directly, feel free. Also, if any past challenge organizers have any suggestions, I'm open to those as well.

So, if I have this correctly, I weighed-in today (at home) to get my base, correct? Starting next week, I post my loss/gain. And, I should include the x/y numbers to avoid any confusion? How's that? :D

Ok, I am at 202, as of the Sunday weigh-in, and I would like to lose 7 lbs. by July 4.

For example, I have set my goal at 14 pounds. I'll weigh in Sunday and if I've lost 2 pounds, then I'll post a loss of 2/14. The following week, if I've lost 2 more pounds, I'll post a loss of 4/14.

And I'll generally post after I've updated things just so I can tell where I left off.

Bouncing smilies are still making me queasy.

I sent a PM but I think if I post it for the general public it will really be the final snap back into motivation I need to get going again. I weighed this morning and am heavier than I thought at 172. My goal is to lose 12 lbs. by July 4 (actually June 27) for my sister's 25 wedding anniversary. I would also like to get back into an exercise routine 4 times aerobics and 3 times pilates!

as of yester day the scale read 198, My goal is to loose 15 pounds by the 4th that would get me to 183. I am on my second
week on low carb eating so far so good. Good luck to every one.

This sure is a popular challenge lots of us wanting to loose for summer - good luck to all!! Hope everyone has had a great first couple of days of the challenge! Remember drink another glass of water!!

I weighed in on Sunday, but I was retaining a ton of water. If I took that weight I would be at my 12 pounds in a week or two ;). So, I'll take last week's weight as my check-in weight.
 
Sunday WI 143. I was hoping it would be less, but that puts me right on track for an 8 pound loss, to get me to 135 by my Vegas trip! WOOO HOOOO! Now if I could just stop the BF from showing up this week, Id be really happy. ::yes::

I would like to take the Independence Day Challenge!

My goal will be 8 pounds - one a week.

Is it okay if I weigh on Fridays? That seems to be the best for me! I'll start at my weight as of Friday May 7.
 
I would like to join too!! I was hoping there would be a challenge I could join in on sometime soon! This will help keep me on track since summer is my hardest time. Put me down for 12 pounds please!! Good luck to all!:wave2:
 
I'm a little new to this, so I apologize in advance if this is a redundant question, but... are we supposed to send or post (gulp!) the initial weigh in weights for this challenge anywhere? Also, since my TOPS meeting is on Tuesdays, can I use tonight's weigh in for my starting weight?
