Anyone who has made reservations with Independence Air to fly into Orlando in the past several months, may want to check on their status. I called today to change flights from Washington Dulles into Orlando, and discovered that our scheduled return flight at 6:45 PM had been changed to 7:45 AM. I was quite upset. I finally got the flights changed to 3:30 p.m. without charge. This is now Indepencence's last direct flight to Dulles out of Orlando.

THANK YOU for the information!! I called and they had changed the times on my mother's flights. They had her arriving from Orlando to Dulles 25 minutes AFTER her connecting flight to Hartford left. Needless to say I was NOT happy. There response was "we will change her flights and not charge you for the change." DUHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I was livid. I talked to customer service afterwards and had them add my cell phone to their contact information in case this happens again that they will call me.

Thanks for the info. I just booked with them today for my first time, so will be watching my itinerary closely for any changes. I am booked on the last flight coming home at 6:10PM and it's still showing available (May 14). The Wash. Post today said that they would not be cutting any of their Dulles/Florida flights. I just could not resist the $116 rt airfare to Orlando.

They changed our flight times for our trip into Tampa in March by 10 minutes and they left 2 messages on our machine and sent us an e-mail regarding with a new confirmation. I was impressed with their service to contact us regarding the changes.

One time USAIR changed our flight to hour hour earlier and did not contact us. Fortunately we arrived at the airport early enough for the originally scheduled flight time to make the flight but it was close.

I-air is making changes throughout their schedules and most seem to take effect FEB. 1. So if you have something scheduled for February or later you might want to check (January looks to be untouched I believe). In most cases it looks like they're cutting the frequency of flights into some cities....noticed IAD- Columbus OH is going from 7 flights a day down to 3 for example. Hope their schedule mods get them in a position to become profitable - I'd love to continue flying them.....

This happened to us Dec 2003. They changed it 2 1/2 hrs earlier. It was a fluke we were that early and ran to the gate just in time.

Usair faxed the Travel Agent the change 24hrs later. We had to laugh.

We flew IAD-MCO RT in December and it was awful. I will never fly with them again. Both ways our flights were 2 hours late. on the way out, it was a 25 minute delay due to weather (no other flight out of IAD was delayed that night on the big board). on the way home, the checkin went fine and I assumed our flight was on time. No one was at the gate, so i called their automated line (which didn't work) finally spoke to a person and informed them there was no one at the gate and the flight wasn't on any of the boards by the gate, had to go to main section of terminal to see status, where is said ON TIME! This was ~1 1/2 hour before the flight. No representative arrived until 20 minutes before the scheduled flight time to say we were delayed over an hour, she was talking to people instead of making an announcement! So many people were upset. I contacted them by email and asked someone to call me when i returned home, but was ignored. Poor customer service, poor reliability. Not for me, I'll stick with SWA.

P.S. Plus my flights cost reduced and they wouldn't do anything.

Sorry for the rant, but I want to make sure everyone knows what they are getting in to. I certainly hope you flights all go well.

When I booked my flight last month for our April trip I was booked for the 8:55am flightout of IAD. That flight is now 9:10am and my return flight which was schedulded to depart MCO at 11:55 AM is now 12:05. No big deal, but no one notified me about the changes. I called Customer services because I had paid 79.00 each way and now the fare is 49.00 each way. They charged me 25.00 for each person to change the fare to the 49.00 rate. I asked why no one had notified me of the change? She said that they just haddn't gotten to me yet. So we will see if I hear from them. I did notice that when I booked the flight last month there was about 10 or more flights to choose from. Now looks to be like 6 or 7.

FLYI, Parnet Company of Independence Air is cutting down its flights which their regional jets fly. I think Pittsburgh used to have 11 flights daily now they are cutting them down to 7 and they are doing this to all of the cities that they fly expect for FL. To save some money. They will probably file Ch. 11 by this summer if they don't find anyway to make some money. But, on Flyertalk.com some rumors are going around that they might have an alliance with another Low-Airfare Carrier ex. Southwest or JetBlue.

I booked my RT tickets for me and my buddy for Spring Break and it was $116.90 for one of us, which is awesome for a college kid.

We have used them three times so far with great results. One flight changed an hour and they left messages for us on our phone at home. All flights have been on time, the planes nice and seemed new and clean. The staff is some of the best flying. The hot towels are a nice touch. Their prices are great. I hope they make the changes necessary to stay in business. I will be using them again in March on a new route and will check flight each month as we get closer as they fine tune their scheduling for a new route.
I highly recommend them out of Buffalo and through Dulles!!
