Having gone on a package last year with Travel City & booked again with the same company for October of this year, i have read lots on here of people booking -

1. Flights
2. Car hire
3. Hotels
4. Insurance

separately so i presume it is probably cheaper to do it this way.
So in preparation for possibly a third trip next year (and we thought last year was a one off) i'd be very grateful for names & links if possible for the best/cheapest ways of getting the above.

Many thanks

Not sure about "cheapest" but we use British Airways and Expedia for flights, but also got a good offer on Ebookers.com.
We use Dreams Unlimited for accommodation, staying on-site. We purchase Annual passes through the Disney Club - this gets us a great opportunity to get a good discount which Dreams checks out for us, saving us the hassle. We haven't done car hire, but if we do that this time, we'll probably go to National as they have a place on property and deals if you are a Disney Club member.

Just the way we do it.... separately is the way to go.

Best rate we got for all inclusive car hire was at
www.floridacarhire.com
It was recommended by a cousin who used them this year and also got a good deal. They use dollar and alamo so the car was at the terminal, no bus ride to a parking lot. (check this if you use them as I havent actually travelled yet this year)
After booking a full package in 2001, I decided to buy everything separate to save money and its working out lots cheaper. I am leaving the park tickets as the exchange rate is getting better every week we leave it.
The internet (and these boards) are a great way to save money.
Good Luck

I booked all my itinery separately this time.

Flights £710 for 2 adults 1 child (www.opodo.co.uk) flights with BA
(that price is for all of us, not each!!!)

accommodation £190 (7 nights) www.expedia.co.uk

Insurance www.insureandgo £49 for all of us.

I saved so much on this holiday that we are going to Discovery Cove and having some good meals whilst we are in Orlando.

If you are going again next year, don't know if you have considered it when you go in October, but it would definitley be worth getting the annual disney passes and go back before the pass expires. We did that 3 years ago.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everybody for the replys.
I could be interested in the annual passes which Rachel suggested, does anybody know the rough price of these, can they be purchased in advance & where from?

We bought our annual passes on the night we arrived in Orlando and went into MK for the evening - even though we were very tired.

If I remember rightly it is not a good idea to buy them beforehand as they go from date of issue (I might have got that wrong) it was 3 years ago!

If you go to www.disneyworld.com and look up ticket prices I think the annual pass details are there. If you want to include the water parks then you need a super annual pass - there are two types.

I got that last bit wrong. I have just looked on the web page. You now get a form that you take the ticket desk on your arrival which means that your pass starts from that date. That is better than when I had mine 3 years ago. At least you can buy in advance this way!!!!!

The Premium Annual pass is $489 an adult which is calculated is approximately £327 inc. tax. each.

Hope this helps.

Rachel

Thanks for the info Rachel - that does seem good value if we were to go twice in a 12 month period.

Think i'll wait a while as the exchange rate seems to be getting better all the time and to see if the 10 day ticket goes below £200 again like it did last year.

We did say that this trip we would see a bit more of the rest of florida but after much nagging from the kids it looks like we're doing the parks again, hence a possible third trip next year.
