Increase in threads getting locked/deleted?

Yes--several very civil conversations have been shut down in the last couple of weeks. Threads shut while I am posting and have been following so i know there were not out of line posts that I missed. It is weird and not very fun and hopefully short lived.

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come because this place will become very boring. Just because people disagree or state opinions (in maybe a way others don't like) doesn't warrant shutdown.

I think the regular Mods on this board may be going on vacation and Mods from the other forums are filling in. They aren't used to the err, lively, spirited debate and disagreements we have about topics here which is quite a different posting style than just posting friendly tips & info for one another.

Totally agree. A million years ago, it way more boisterous than it is now, yet it seems like all of a sudden lately, if you have a contrary opinion, you get points and your hands slapped. Very hypersensitive!

It's not just this board, though. I've noticed a lot more intrusive actions being taken on a couple of other forums recently. Very uncharacteristically. And I don't like what I'm seeing. I'm watching a Harry Potter movie right now, and all this reminds me of Dolores Umbridge and her effect on Hogwarts. I wonder if the mods have been handed a new set of edicts.

I stopped reading that one before it was "poofed" so I didn't miss it. It seemed like a pile on to me.

This is nothing. If you don't go there you should have seen the Themeparks forum recently. Basically almost anyone that felt a certain way was banned or at least got points. It was hard to have a conversation for a while.

In my opinion it was. It no longer exists so I guess it really doesn't matter anymore.

I've noticed this on the TPAS forum as well. When I first saw this thread title, I thought that was what was being referred to. Interesting that it seems to be across multiple forums.
