Hi
With annual pass getting higher I am ever glad we bought into dvc
Have cuurently 2 contracts ( AKL &. VGF ) and trying to add on ( resale since sold out ) at VGF we love that resort
So at least we dont have to worry about room qnd prices going up with my contrats one less to worry and that way not that the fact that the AP is getting higher not bother me
But if I had to worry about lodging I would be more upset
So glad we bought dvc and hopefully I'll find a resale add on at VGF

I'm not "glad", per se, so much as rethinking our future plans at Disney. We will do DW twice in 2016.

Then we skip 2017, and even possibly skip 2018. We used to be Disney EVERY YEAR since 2010....

Maybe we will do aulani in 2018 instead. Who knows,

I may rent out our points one year. We have BLT and BWV so that shouldn't be too hard.

So I'm not "grateful" so much as rethinking how we will use our dvc. Maybe we will splurge for a GV given how many points we shall have if we skip 1/2 yrs, and we do not rent out points!! Too many points!!

Our original plan was to have 1000 points by the time we retire (7 years) since we have gone every year since 2000 but now have decided at 670 we have more then enough and actual have listed some points for rent with David's. I am glad I bought when I did when SSR was in the mid 50's, BLT direct was 108.00 and BWV 75 all fully loaded (paid more then I wanted for BWV since prices went from 55, 65 then 75 per point cause Disney kept taking the contracts we were trying to buy all within 2 months). I love my DVC but prices on everything is getting out of control. We bought DVC to bring friends and family hoping to make it more affordable for them but in reality its still a very expensive vacation. I am planning on keeping what we have in hopes of future grand kids but will rent out some of our points over the next couple years. I just would not pay the prices they are asking today even resale is expensive.

At least someone is putting a positive spin on the ticket price situation. :)

Well when you see it that way for sure I see it positive :-)
With rooms / studio free ( taken from points ) even if AP did increase I still dont have to worry about putting $ out of pocket for rooms
Ans if it would not be for dvc I would never be able to afford roims at animal kingdom lodge ... Grand floridian ..
So for me its the best thing we ever did

I am still happy we bought DVC, too! Our plans to move to FL have fallen apart, our 1400+ points will get us into DVC for a few weeks in winter, with points left over to enjoy the times we love, F&G and Christmas. We may have to add on to our few VGF points, and if so, we'll sell something, so I see us at 1300 or so points sometimes.

I am still glad that I purchased. Have you seen the rack rate increases for 2016? The minimum rack rate for Polynesian for this year during value seasons was $429 for the hotel side and $439 for the studios. 2016 it went up to $499 and $509 I believe. Huge increases. And that's value season, every other time of the year is more than that! Even with financing my points, I'm still paying way less than that, about the 50% off that they claim in the ads. People who didn't finance or have older points are paying even way less than that, probably 75% off.

Have to agree with this here...

I don't think we could justify prices at the deluxe resorts often without DVC. With it, we get The Grand every year...
