Are there any incentives for purchasing BLT? $114 per point or $112?

As a member you also now have to pay for the closing, right?

The current incentive is $112 per point with a $5 credit, with a matching set of Developers Points to be used by 10/3/09. Minimum purchase for a new member is 160 points, minimum for an existing member adding on is 100 points. Points at BLT can't be used until after 9/19/09.

DVC News.com also shows special incentives for new members purchasing more than 160 points, including a $1000 gift card and a stay in a 1 br villa at another resort.

I don't think so. DVC News needs to update their site. I was with a Guide on Sunday and was offered a $5 credit and matching developer points for 190 points. The $1000 gift card is the same thing as the $5 credit. You can get it applied to your down payment or in a gift card. The stay in the 1 BR villa is the developer points.

What is a Friends and Family Discount?

Typically, DVC will offer an incentive ONLY to those who "know a friend" that is currently a member! So, if you purchase DVC, and you have a "referral" you will be eligible for an additional incentive. Last year it was a $500 Disney Gift Card, or a $1,000 gift card, depending on how many points you purchase initially.

It's probably worth waiting for.
