Incentives offered on webcast

Just watched the webcast. They only talked about the incentives offered at BLT, although said discounts were available for other resorts.

You get 2010 pts
100 pts - $12 off, holiday tote, $350 gift card
150 pts - $12 off, holiday tote, $500 gift card
250 pts - $18 off, holiday tote, $750 gift card
Reminder that BLT goes from $120 to $130 a pt on Dec.1

Curious if any one calls to find out what incentives are offered at other resorts - assuming AKV and SSR. Please post if you find out.

I printed out the information during the webcast. The "gift basket" is actually an extra $100 dollars!!!

The exact words are: The Disney Holiday Gift Basket offer requires current Members to purchase an Add On equal to 100 or more vacation points and pay $100 in addition to the minimum 10% down payment required at the time of purchase. This $100 does not increase the final purchase price.

It doesn't look like the gift basket actually costs a buyer an extra $100. It looks like it merely requires a buyer to make a slightly larger down payment, but that the final price remains unchanged.

Use welcome for the login and home as the password. The incentives were the same at each one, $12 off per point for 100-249 points and $18 off per point for 250+ points. Guess I will be off hunting for a good resale contract

Could have been different incentives offered during different webcasts. Perhaps one was intended for existing owners (as add-ons) and the other for new buyers??

Oh I completely forgot to watch yesterday! Thanks for posting - I knew I could find the incentives here on The Dis. I really wish the incentives were in the low 90's. Back to the resale sites I guess!

I was really hoping for something good price wise, but wasn't too optimistic. Most reslale contracts for BLT are going for $100 p/p. Therefore a 100 pt contract is $10,000. If you add closing costs you are at $10,400. For $10,800 I can buy direct and get a $350 gift card plus the tote. Having bought both direct and resale in the past in this case direct is definitely the way to go. Not having to wait for ROFR makes it worth it. Unfortunately, the price is still a bit too high. Guess I'll have to wait and hope resale ends up being the better deal down the road when price jumps to $130 p/p.

Offer any incentive all the time, and it is no longer special or a meaningful incentive to purchase now. Offered occasionally, and you get "its finally back, I better buy now!". Free cruise was sucessful enough to do 2x (I think). They'll bring it back.

Plus not everyone likes the cruise incentive and some prefer the up front discount.. And there is no current DVC points cruise availability...

Yeah, I just mailed in my add-on contract last week. The price pp was the same as the current sale but I missed out on a $500 gift card.

Call your guide right away.

Your contract likely has not closed, in which case your guide should be able to redo the contract - giving you the better incentives. From the time we mailed our contract in to the time we closed was 2 or 3 weeks.
