Incentive Help Needed

I would like to hear from anyone who has had a pitch in the past 30 days with the current incentives. Can anyone please share?

I thought it was $8 off of points, Feb use year, all '06 points included. Does that sound right?

Also, I had this pitch a couple of weeks ago--- we had pressing issues during our travel and then spent add'l days on vacation at another site. Anyhow, I called to confirm that we could still get the incentives and they said no.

Basically if I want to buy, I get no incentives.

That's messed up if they are still offering those incentives to others.

Does this make sense to anyone? Any insight?

They offered those incentives to me in June, also included was $13 per point if I didn't want '06 points, but would start getting points in '07.

I bought in June (at BWV so I did not get the incentives anyhow), so do not know if they are currently offering the same deal this month, although from other posts, it sounds as if they are.

So then why would they rescind the incentive offer to me? Because I didn't respond in a certain amount of time?? Seems weird. I would think they would want my money either way especially if they are still offering that incentive to new members.

Anyone have insight?

Who is your guide? If you'd like, I can give you the name of my guide and you can talk with him. I have no idea why they would make an offer and then rescind it.

Did you get all the paperwork last month? They sent me a pack of paperwork explaining the offers, in addition to a beautifully bound coffee table book.

I was on the cruise, got the bound book, etc. but did not make a commitment before we left DCL. I called to inquire now if the incentives were still available and they said they couldn't offer that to me anymore.

The said that the best they could do would be for me to wait and they could offer the July incentive when that came out. They expect it to be different but did not know if it would be better or worse.

I'm puzzled.

We started looking into buying in May. AT that time, if we bought by 5/31, we would have gotten $8 off with 2005, 2006, 2007 points, or $13 off with 2006 and 2007 points. As of 06/01, it was $8 with 2006 and 2007, $13 with 2007 points. We bought in the beginning of June and were told that the June incentive was only available until 6/30/2006. And they told me that as long as we had paid the $500 deposit before end of business on 06/30, we could have had that incentive. No clue what the July incentive is yet.

They may have made that offer in the last 30 days, but it was only good til last Friday. :teeth:

that's interesting info---thanks for sharing.

Does anybody have experience with incentives in JULY??

Still haven't hooked up with my rep but via voice mail she said "since you're not in Florida we can't offer the incentives".

Does that make sense to anyone?

I started looking into it a few weeks ago with the same offer you are talking about and we actually made our decision and called our rep to put down our deposit on Saturday, which was July 1st and I still got the incentive, so I don't know about the June 30th deadline. I would try to speak to another rep and see if they can work something out with you. We bought site unseen, so I don't know if it matters that we did not start the initial process at WDW, but rather have done everything over the phone. It doesn't seem like this should make a difference. Be persistent!

It has always been that you must respond within 3 days to get the incentives. An on site offer expires after 3 days. It has something to do with timeshare sales laws across state lines etc.

We bought into DVC a year after touring. When I called, I asked what the incentives were and the guide looked it up and mailed me a packet with two different offers (one I did not understand - Magical Beginnings????? They bought back points or something). We did the rebate of 13 and when I asked if I got extra points he said I did get the 06 points.

Ironically, this is a slightly better offer than we had been offered the year before.

I don't live in Florida.

Interesting. I had not heard this before.

I do know that if you sign a contract in Florida, that you have 3 business days to rescind the contract (basically change your mind).

So if you SIGN during your tour, that makes sense. I just don't understand the offer expiring in 3 days. When I was on DCL, they said it expired when we docked in Port and I was talking to them the night before we docked.

That's why I didn't make a decision....they literally wanted me to do it in 6 hours and I wasn't going to ruin the last part of my cruise trying to figure it all out. After all, we had more important things to do: like see the characters for the last time, go to a show, have dinner, and (ugh!) pack our bags.

I will call her tomorrow and find out what's up. Thanks for your input.

I recently sat through the info session at Disneyland over the 4th of July weekend. We were told that there was a timelimit on the incentives, although it varried depending if you were an out of town guest or a southern California resident (like myslef). The special we got was $8 off per point and points for 06 with a use year beginning in February I beleive. (As a newbie, I hope I am using the term use-year correctly there!!!) There was no mention of the $13 off for starting in 07 instead. They called this the "Saratogoa Savings." It pretty much sounds like the program you heard about on the cruise.

I finally hooked up with my guide yesterday (it had been voice mail before).

When pressed a little bit, they did offer the original incentives to me.

Thanks for all of the input.

i am going on dcl and wdw in november. do you think that the incentives will be the same in both places?

I would assume that generally there are the same but there are different lawas re: time shares in CA and FL so there may at times be differences I would imagine.
