For those wishing to do GC on their own..

Since the islands are relatively flat and small, renting a car is a good option. But keep in mind that you must drive on the left. The major car rental agencies on Grand Cayman are Cico-AVIS (345-949-2468 or 800-228-0668), Ace-Hertz (345-949-2280 or 800-654-3131), Budget (345-949-5605 or 800-527-0700), Dollar (345-949-2981) and National (345-949-4790). A local agent is Just Jeeps (345 949-7263).

Where are the Spanish Lessons...they speak English on GC

Shirley - got amap of KW from AAA. It lokks like we will be docked in a GREAT place to see Mallory Sq and the sunset. Does this look good to you?

Hello here - Mallory Square is awesome - you can go to Masson de Pepe and have lunch, dinner etc - they have food out of this world and a latin band that is to drool over - everyone gets out and dances - if you decide on any gold, silver items inclding tee shirt, clothes - go to A Touch of Gold and tell Vinny that Shirley from Key West recommended him - he is wonderful to all of those that I have ever sent in and (no do not get anything for singing his praises) ------Keno sandels company is also right by Vinny and those shoes last forever and every reasonable and comfortable -
The conch train is very nice tho lots of the time so much is really left out simply b/c so many of the true conchs have left due to the everything bening so high - to hang with the locals - there is Siboney Rest. on Catherine Street - B's restaurant on Bertha Street - Crabby Dick in the evenings - Vickie's restaurant on Duck Street - Dennis Pharmacy that has a lunchenette - this is on Simtonton Street - when going to Messon de Pepe there is a deciation to my grandfather who was the first spanish professor at the San Carlos School on Duval Street - he taught Pauline Hemingway to speak spanish with her paying 25 cents a lesson - she learned to speak sanish very well.

Hey there - there is no Kelly Beach that I know of - there is Sunset Island that is very exclusive - you can take a ferry over, but only to eat at - the beachs that I know of are South Beach at the end of Duval Street - Clarence Higgs Beach at the end of
White Street - Fort Taylor beach is off Whitehead Street and Smathers Beach off South Roosevelt beach - I will be going down again this weekend to check on my ailing uncle - call me or write me if anyone wants me to check out information for them - I will be bringing back some brochures of Key West and if anyone wants one ---just call or write me and I will make sure you get them.

Hi Gang,
From what I've read, it's not Kelly's Beach but Kelly's Beach CLUB!
It's privately owned by Kelly Preston, the actress. Shirley, maybe you know something about this place? She apparantly has a couple of clubs in town as well. There's hope yet Cmatt!!!
Now Scott maybe you can answer this one!!! We were going to book the catamaran sail and snorkel in Key West but are now thinking twice because of this "Black Cloud" phenomenom. Is it affecting the visibility in and around Key West waters?
No cruise docs here in south Jersey yet, maybe today, eh Joe?
Well, back to work, don't want to get fired before I earn my spending money!!!!!!

No, actually the Countdown timer accounts for Daylight Savings Time. That's why if you calculate it out, the timer is currently counting down to Noon on the 11th instead of the stated 1PM. This is due to the fact that we lose an hour when the time changes.

Any of this make sense?

Well I heard from DCL today. The Brunch is set for the first sea day and the group will not be serated!!! YAY!!!! Okay, now for business, I need everyones promt cooperation on this to finalize.....I need exact first and last names of everyone in your party and your parties reservation #. I need to email this to DCL ASAP. You can email this info to ultimateescapes@charter.net. This way no sensitive matter is plastered all over the board for all to see. LOL

Also..We need to nominate someone to be the onboard contact. Anyone want to volunteer for this position?.......anyone.......anyone......Bueller.......?

Got my Cruise docs today! FINALLY!!!

cmatt, the Countdown Timer DOES account for Daylight Savings Time already, so the time you are seeing is correct!

Is it too late to add my wife and I to the brunch??? If so, no biggee, just thought it would be fun to meet ya'll (I'm in North Carolina, so ya'll is an actual word) and not have to worry about the friggin' timer!

Hello Bunnymom - yes Kelly Preston owns a few places in Key West - her original restaurant is on Whitehead Street and Caroline Street- when I was a little girl it was the Pan Am location office - Her food is excellent - she also has a location on Duval Street close to the Oldest House in Key West - As for this Black Cloud supposely in Key West - Norm's daughter is with the mosquito control in Key West and when we called her - her answer was "What Black Cloud -here in Key West no way" my two sons went diving just 2 weeks ago and had no problems and this subject never came up and believe me we would know for sure - I am going down this weekend and will see if anyone especially the locals know anything - my op -----think twice before not going diving ---to all of you DON'T FORGET TO SEE THE MOST AWESOME SUNSET --------you will be stunned at the beauty of it - looks like a great fireball going into the Gulf ------fishing is excellent in Key West, but lots of rules and regulations ---if you decide to do so go on the North side of Roosevelt Blvd - excellent chances to go fishing - don't forget to see Houseboat row ---
Now the only thing I have to add --don't listen to rumors ---call me or Norm (he was a postman for 40 yrs and also had lived there 65 years so he knows really what is going on - call here at the shop 800-950-4559.

Lets see.... we will have a ton of questions about the schedule and where we will be on the first day at sea. I think I have some answers. On the location...We will be at sea, should not be doing anything except getting sunburned or .... Second: The first sea day is Monday right? Check your schedules, mine says Monday is the first sea day but I could be wrong????
Ok, what time is lunch? It is sometime during the period from 10AM and dinnertime? (could not resist!)

Ok, someone is not reading the email or the posts, about a month ago (probably no) I posted the info on KELLYs BEACH CLUB, not a big deal, but no sense spending the $$$ to get there when I can go to another beach via MOPED and eat what I want....

We were packed until I got my docs. Now I had to take all my clothes out and repack for the Mexi%&*^%^%&ocous Nite ? Good thing, I forgot to pack my Toothbrush? Oh don't I need that until we leave? Trying to look like a pirate for our trip to RUM Point (via rental), Joanne says shave! OK ?

The brunch thing sounds so awesome. Thank you DisCrusnmommie for all of your hard work. We wouldn't have been able to do it without you. Joe I think you would make an excellent point of contact...You wanna volunteer to be the person. I can't beleive I actually have to eat breakfast with you people...Hope you have good table manners (Kidding of course... )

You guys gotta check this out. Obviously it has nothing on it yet since we haven't left yet, but I am pretty impressed with my 10 minutes of coding for this. I am going to snazz it up in the next few weeks and make it a little bit more pretty. Let me know what you think...

I fully plan on having everything for the site finalized when I get back so I can just download the pics off of my new digital camera write the report and scan the navigators.

Shirley...I have got to call you someday soon to see about creating a basket for my dd. I want her to have something special, but I have no idea where to start. I'd like it to be custom and not one of the pre-arranged ones on your site. I'll call you sometime in the next week and see what we can set up.
