Hi Folks:wave:

Here is some info for ya'll

Rum Point is a festive beach area with watersports, activities, and a restaurant. It can be reached by car or by ferry from the Hyatt Regency's dock. Geysers spout from Grand Cayman's Blow Holes where waves force water into caverns below the surface. As the pressure builds, impressive bursts of water shoot up into the air.

Here is a link to the Buffet in Key West. No not the food line! OOPs yes that is the food line for the mind?

Okay, I know that somewhere on this thread, SOMEONE posted the times that we are scheduled to get into ports. But I can't find it, and I looked back 13 pages! Does anyone have this handy? I'm trying to finalize shore excursions, to keep up with everyone else on this site!

Jennifer, are you doing the 1/2 day or the 2 hour Captain Marvins? I'm trying to decide if my kids will enjoy the 2nd snorkling thing. It's only $5 difference, so I'm leaning toward the 1/2 day one if it's still available.

Cmatt - I am talking about the noise from being right under off-beat....

TKD Lisa - I am going on the 2 hour snorkel. We are going on the nautilus excursion in the morning, and I want plenty of time to sit on the beach and shop a little before the snorkeling trip. We went with the 1:45 trip which will bring us back to the port just in time to board and get ready for dinner.

WDW - Good luck to your daughter at the horse show...

Only like 38 days left...Can you believe it?

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Peace out,
Jennifer

Here are the Port Times as I've seen them - I remember checking these against what was posted earlier and they were the same:

<table border=1 cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2">
<tr nowrap>
<td><b>Date</b></td><td><b>Day</b></td><td><b>Port</b></td><td><b>Ashore</b></td><td><b>Departs</b></td></tr><tr nowrap>
<td>5/11</td><td>Sat</td><td>Port Canaveral</td><td> </td><td>05:00PM</td></tr><tr nowrap><td>5/12</td><td>Sun</td><td>Key West</td><td>12:30PM</td><td>10:00PM</td></tr><tr nowrap><td>5/13</td><td>Mon</td><td>At Sea</td><td> </td><td> </td></tr><tr nowrap><td>5/14</td><td>Tue</td><td>Grand Cayman</td><td>07:30AM</td><td>05:45PM</td></tr><tr nowrap><td>5/15</td><td>Wed</td><td>Cozumel</td><td>10:30AM</td><td>11:00PM</td></tr><tr nowrap><td>5/16</td><td>Thu</td><td>At Sea</td><td> </td><td> </td></tr><tr nowrap>
<td>5/17</td><td>Fri</td><td>Castaway Cay</td><td>09:00AM</td><td>05:00PM</td></tr><tr nowrap><td>5/18</td><td>Sat</td><td>Port Canaveral</td><td>08:30AM</td><td> </td></tr></table>

Hope this helps...

- Jim

Great my R&D Guy, but is there a fee to rum point ????

Or how much is the ferry cost ,,???

Why is it kept so quiet,, this is where dcl beach exc. goes at either 45.00 or 49.00 would have to look it up Joe???

whats the deal other than transportation ,, maybe a chair, towel, lunch,,

also Joe on cruise critic still no mention of it when people say what beach to go to they all say public acess are on 7 mile beach??

let me know what you find out thanks R&D guy good job??

thanks cmatt  :sunny: :earsboy: :earseek:

cmatt,

From the excursion info, for your $43 you get the bus ride there and back and lunch. No other amenities are listed nor is any entrance fee to the beach listed. In the book I have the taxi's are $12-$20 each way.

We are porting on the west side of the island at George Town. Rum Point is located on the middle of the north side of the island, however it appears that there are no direct roads. From the small map I have, it looks like a 15-20 mile drive, but in reality only about 7 miles in a direct line.

You can probably go a lot cheaper by getting a taxi for the whole family and then just buying lunch there.

Hello there - I understand the Western cruise will stop in Key West for a few hours. To all of those that are interested in what to do, where to go, what to see etc. I would be most happy to help anyone with questions relating to Key West - being born and raised there, I have info as where to eat with the locals - where the best buys are etc.
To all of those that are cruising - have a wonderful time and all stay safe.
Always
Shirley

Hi Folks

Failure here. Have to fire me! I cannot find anything on the aquarium at Grand Cayman...I think CMATT is pulling my leg. The Aquarium down there is called the big open ocean:D

On another note, the bad news is my docs came today and they say I (we) will be sailing with all you folks:p

Now we are going to have the mexica.... on the day when we are in Cozumel until 11...I prefer that though...at least I do not have to miss formal night now. I will reorder the tux again, and hope the schedule does not change. Good going Joe...These are very interesting developments. One big R&D heads up...

The rum point adventure sounds like a blast, to bad I am already set in my excursions....FYI everyone who has been to Grand Caymen says DO NOT miss snorkeling with the stingrays...I've heard it is quite amazing.

Anyway...Still no docs today and no call from TA...I am starting to regret booking online. You get no personal touches, and I can't get the lady to even call me back. This really stinks. I have done a bit of advertising for them on this board, and I am starting to change my opinion.

Did some light shopping today...Bought DD a few new outfits and myself a couple of new shirts. New digital camera is supposed to be here on Thursday. Can't wait to start testing it. DD starts swimming lessons tomorrow. She will be an expert by cruise time (so I am told) I am sooooo excited for her. Sometimes though, I would swear I am more excited than she is.

Alright everyone, have a good nights sleep.

Peace out,
Jennifer

Hi Folks

CMATT: I can understand your dilema with the credit card...but you know there is a whole lot of fish to feed in the ocean. Smelt not being one of them.....:p

Hi Again Too Early!

Ok CMATT. I went to my dive books and found this place for you. On the link below Aquarium is about half way up Seven Mile beach off shore. I told you it was in the Ocean!

Aquarium

By the way if you click home on this link, there are some very detailed maps of Grand Cayman, and other locations as well. You can right mouse click on the maps, click save as and then print them out. The one of Georgetown is very good. Shopping for black coral (endangered species) not allowed. Customs may let you bring in one piece if it was made into jewelry by a local. At least 3 years ago they did, but they may also take it from you. Be warned!
