Question for those that are flying. I've never flown to a race before but I read somewhere that you should pack your running stuff in your carry-on in case of stolen/lost luggage. Do you pack all of your running stuff in your carry-on? Just shoes? Nothing at all (although, I've had my luggage both lost and had items stolen from my luggage before so I think I'd at least do shoes)?
For some reason I'm starting to get paranoid about hurricanes and/or bad weather preventing me from flying to FL. I guess if nothing else I'll be driving myself there!
I ran 10 miles this morning and it was probably one of the worst runs ever. I was so burned out from running, mentally over it, and just trudging through. It was awful and hot. I spent the last 20 minutes thinking about how I will only do 10k's after this half and the full next year. Hopefully the 8k I'm doing next Saturday goes better.
Oh, another question that has nothing to do with this race but just thinking into the future and running when it's cold again....do you run with something covering your face/mouth/nose when it's around 20ish degrees? I hate the feeling of super cold (20ish degrees is super cold to me

), sharp air hitting my lungs and I've seen some things on some websites but wasn't sure if anyone had any recommendations.
I started a subscription to Runner's World a month or so ago through
Amazon for $15. I got August and September issues in the mail last week and it's killing me not to read them! I ALWAYS buy a Runner's World magazine at the airport when I'm flying somewhere but I figured for the cost of three magazines I can get a year's worth. But now I have to hold on to them for another month before I can read them!
I can't believe it's almost a month away!
