I really, really hope that Orlando has a freezing spell come October 2nd. I did a 3 mile race tonight in 87 degrees, and it was truly not fun.

For those of you staying at WDW for the race:
Did you book with the Marathon discount? Did you book on your own and get free dining?

Um I think the majority of us that ran in January would disagree with the running in that freezing cold spell you mention.
As for the Park discussion I think we all assumed we would be running the majority of this race without seeing anyone (Other than other runners) cheering outside of Disney putting Volunteers and Cast Memebers in the other parks.
What I still find odd about this race is we don't have an official race map and we don't have any idea what will really be open at the after party.
BTW welcome to all the Newbie WISHers!!!
I actually thought last January's half and full were fun. I would pick that weather over 2007's scorcher.
I really do not find the lack of map odd but what is acutally open post race I do. Recently Disney has not posted new courses very early, allowing for late certification revisions, permit issues, etc.
Here's my guess based on the description

And another that I originally laid out - note I do not think they will push us through the back end of AK at night.

Of the two I think I would prefer the second version listed here. It has fewer miles in the AK parking lot ---- But it will not work for the exchange point location as posted on the Disney site

I too would rather have the cold then the heat for a run but I could deal without the frozen water all over the course at the waterstops. Mid-40's would be my pick for marathon weekend, at least the morning of the runs.
I thought free dinning was ending before the weekend of the W&D, did it get extended?
Free dining ends 10/2. You need to be checked in by 10/2 to get free dining for the entirety of your stay.

What website are you guys going to to find out info about discounted tickets for runners?
