Hey now, watch that "crappy" stuff! LOL. It's all relative.
I'm glad you commented though, I'm having perpetual problems w/ my calves and shins & am nervous about finishing, much less time. I was kicking but (again, all relative) at the Princess at a pretty steady 10.5 or so, then my right knee buckled at exactly the halfway point. I managed to get it working again but it tacked on about 25 minutes to my time & I finished in 2:44. I was about as mad as a wet hen! I'm hoping for a finish under 2:30 this time, but boy am I nervous about the lower legs. I'm thinking of taking this week off for some re-coup.
Sorry! I didn't mean to imply it was a crappy time for everybody. Just in my situation, and also according to the results in my gender/age group, I could have done way better with more training. All I really wanted to convey was that even without perfect training, and a minor injury, you can still finish the race. I don't want people giving up before the race even starts!
